I'll give it a try - but why "don't" - more information would be useful, thanks

    Scantronic 9448+ Keeps Tampering

Another thought - going to replace it with a wifi system, probably the Yale Smart Home system. Any reason I shouldn't?

    Scantronic 9448+ Keeps Tampering

Sorry, Christmas came along and this got put on the back burner. Unfortunately, though, it hasn't gone away! I can reset the alarm with no problem on every occasion. The only light that illuminates is the very bottom tamper light - no circuit light comes on. So what does that suggest? As a...

    Manrose mf100t inline extractor

It wouldn't always come on, but might if you switched the light off and on a few times. Currently it is coming on sometimes but not always when the light is on, but is coming on when the light is switched off. I will check the internal connections and if that doesn't sort it, it sounds like it...

    Manrose mf100t inline extractor

I have had 3 of these fitted in my house for the past 2 and half years. In each installation there is both a light on/off switch and a fan on/off switch. Provided the fan switch is in the on position, switching on the light will activate the fan. Generally after showers are finished we switch...

    Scantronic 9448+ Keeps Tampering

Thanks for the reply. No work done for years. I did change the internal battery and thought this might cure it, but it didn't, although it was probably time for a new one. I'm not aware of one in the bell box. I'll check that out - I've never looked. If there was, it would have been in 17...

Help needed bt drop wire to master socket connection

It is essential that you know which colours were connected. Usually only 2 wires are used. Use of more would be exceptional. I always take a picture of the box before I do any alterations. If you aren't sure you need to connect a master socket to the cable and plug in a phone and try...

    Scantronic 9448+ Keeps Tampering

I have a Scantronic 9448+ unit, hardwired, combined box and key pad. Recently, the alarm have been regularly activating with nothing showing on the box until you enter the passcode to reset it, when the tamper light illuminates. I would appreciate the best course of action to troubleshoot it...

    Scantronic 9448+ Hardwired Problem

2 other things: 1. The system still tampers occasionally, with only the tamper light showing. What should I do to find out why? 2. The part set for nigh-time on zone 4 has a loud continuous buzz for 20 seconds. Is it possible to silence this and just have the flashing LED?

    Scantronic 9448+ Hardwired Problem

OK. Thinks it's sorted. 10 Enter 4 Enter in engineers mode applied a part omission on zone 4. Thanks to sparkymarka

    Scantronic 9448+ Hardwired Problem

OK, I managed to omit zones 5 and 6 by going through the engineers code and doing 15 Enter and pressing 5 and 6, but now 2 Enter and my code (night setting) just gives a solid tone rather than a beep beep beep

    Scantronic 9448+ Hardwired Problem

OK, I've got my code working again, but zones 5 and 6 flash. I don't think they are connected. What do I need to do to tell the box to ignore these? The night code (2 enter Code) appears to work OK.

    Scantronic 9448+ Hardwired Problem

I've done that and the LEDs went out but entering my alarm code or 1234 does nothing. Any ideas please? I tried re-entering our alarm code using the engineer code, but although it beeped to say the code had been accepted, entering the code doesn't appear to set the alarm.

    Scantronic 9448+ Hardwired Problem

The new battery has arrived and I've put it in. When I do 0 Enter 7890 all the red LEDs light up and flash. Is this right? I tried to re-program our code in but it didn't seem to work.

    Scantronic 9448+ Hardwired Problem

Thanks for that. I have ordered one which should be here in the next few days. Hopefully will sort the problem out. There's a picture of a similar one here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=4849851

    Scantronic 9448+ Hardwired Problem

My Scantronic 9448+ is on its second board, so getting on a bit. I last changed the battery about 2008, I think. Recently its been faulting occasionally with the tamper light coming on. Tonight I came in and it had gone off and wouldn't turn off with the keypad, so I disconnected the mains...
