Brill, thanks for that! Just to put my mind at rest, how much pressure increase should there be as the CH kicks in? This rises about 0.3 bar now I've re-pressurised the vessel. Is that about right?

I'll go and have a look, as my mate reckoned the catch was behind the radiator and not accessible from the front! To be honest, I'm not too sure what has happened, but the tele-flex cable is still attached to the handle inside the car.

Hi, My daughter's Nissan Micra (1994) has a manual sunroof that has jammed open. The winding handle is extremely stiff but does turn slightly, but it has no effect on the sunroof. Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this, or how to get the roof back into the closed position at least...

Whoa!! I don't know why it's happened, but I've got everything back!!! :D I tried another system restore to a point further back, again with no joy. So I decided to undo that restore, and hey presto, everything appeared. No idea why, but happy just the same!! Any ideas on that one?

No sysu.exe I'm afraid! Also, there doesn't seem to be an explorer.exe either. Should there be?

Tried explorer.exe in the task manager and it said that Windows could not access it. sfc /scannow didn't seem to do anything! Still can't get into safe mode. A real luddite, Sorry!

And so...... I've managed to navigate around the c drive to find the sysytem restore and done that to a date when everything was ok with the same results (no icons etc). Everything seems to be working, all programs work when I find them through the task manager, but as I said earlier...

Sorry, but can't seem to get it to boot in safe mode! Tapping the F8 key during start up gives me the option of which drive to boot from. I then select the hard drive and it boots normally, whether I tap F8 or not. Sorry!! :oops:

Hi, Just started up my pc and the start menu, task bar and all icons have disappeared, leaving just the desktop wallpaper. The only way I can access anything is to ctrl,alt,del and use task manager, new task, then finding the relevant prog to use. Any ideas?? Thanks, TT
