Hi I'm sorry if this has been covered before. My stopcock leaks when closed. It seems to work ok apart from a slight leak from around the spindle. 1) Do I need to turn of the mains outside? 2) What do I use to repair the leak? PTFE or something else? Thanks Peter

Ok. This is what I will do. Cut the boards just short of the wall and support the cut with a new joist. The new boards will then butt up to the new boards on top of this joist. Being that the bathroom is less than 8' long I will need to cut the boards in to weird lengths and stagger the joins...

John D Yep, only one external wall at one end facing north with double glazed window. The other walls are all internal bar one which is a dividing wall shared with block next door. Should one under the window be ok? Thanks Pete
