    Lockshield Valve

I noticed that on my rads there is an olive between the TRV and rad connection - but not between the lockshield and rad. In the past, I have just tightened the nut that connects the lockshield to the rad. Never used PTFE or any sort of jointing compound. 1. So, I was wondering, what makes for...

MultiFinish - does it always dry a uniform pale pink?

Thanks for replying Darrington. Tried the hairdryer - no change. In fact - the walls in the pictures shown have been the same colour for the last two weeks. The pictures are in fact from the same room. The external corner is mostly pale pink - yet the other picture is not. It's a skim coat...

MultiFinish - does it always dry a uniform pale pink?

Hi Darrington - all walls are solid or plasterboard. Modern (ish) 1990 house. The external corner wall pic is plasterboard. The other pic with the window is block/brick cavity and the wall adjoining that is plasterboard -as is the ceiling. Cheers - Martin.

MultiFinish - does it always dry a uniform pale pink?

Hi All, I have a room that was skimmed with MultiFinish on 19th and 20th July. Please see attached. I've just messaged the plasterer (24 years experience) and he says it's dry and that the plaster does not always dry to the same uniform colour (he doesn't know why that is). Is this plaster...

    Removal of MultiFinish & PVA

Thanks for that folks. Didn't have success so far, but maybe we need to persist with a toothbrush and hot soapy water. Might give this a try: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006VCS3JG/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza

    Removal of MultiFinish & PVA

Hello! Plasterer has skimmed the entire house. Despite the Mrs trying to remove the offending MultiFinish using lots of elbow grease, washing up liquid, Magic Eraser, vinegar and Cif cleaning cream - the staining still persists. We are starting to get worried about how to remove it now. Have...

Keeping DHW on when removing rads

Just to conclude this thread. Rads removed, TRVs capped with these: https://www.screwfix.com/p/blank-nut-x/51939 One of the TRVs was leaking a little when the rad was removed - but capped off and all is good. Managed to sheer off one of the air vents off the rad (the squared end) with the...

Keeping DHW on when removing rads

Hi All, I need to remove 9 rads for plastering and decorating. They will be removed for a few weeks. 3 towel rads will remain on. I understand that I need to leave the CH system pressurised on the (oil) combi in order to keep the hot water on. I'm okay with shutting the lockshield off (and...
