Should the controller be at switch level outside the bathroom or at floor level like sockets? What's normal practise?

I don't know the name, but it's one of the very common bushes grown at teh front of houses around the border. I need to trim it back quite heavily - is it better for the plant to do it now in the dormant season or wait until it starts growing?

I've built kitchens and am very handy at DIY. Happy to build a stud wall, but I imagine the door frame could be really hard to get perfect. A couple of mm out at the top and it'll look obvious. Have you DIYers tackled this successfully or am I heading for trouble with this task?

It's got one 30cm from the porch in the hallway and the porch is going to be a cavity wall and insulated upto modern BC standards, so I'm unsure if I need to put a new radiator in it? Anyone built a porch without a radiator and got any feedback?
