Which connector on this key switch is which?

Hello, I am replacing the key switch ( photo attached) on a ride on mower. I have bought this one which seems good quality but instead of letters by the connectors on the back which I was expecting there are numbers. It is a three position switch OFF, ON and full turn to the right which...

Fitting a 5.5 hp engine into an old ride on mower

Thanks John, I have seen this one on ebay that apparently works well. I am assuming that this particular engine is supposed to be bolted on the way up it is shown here in first photo. Also I notice that the spindle has some sort of collar on it , do you think that could be hard to get off as...

Fitting a 5.5 hp engine into an old ride on mower

Hello, I have bought an old ride on mower (as per photo) with the idea of making it into a mini tractor /ride on for my young son. I have stripped of the cutting deck, heavy brusher/collector and all of the excess weight , redundant brackets , levers etc that altogether came to quite a bit of...

Suitable motor for converting petrol garden tractor to electric

Thanks for your responses. The existing petrol engine revolves at 3000rpm and in operation is left at that permanently. The difference in speed is chosen by which gear is used. The engine power/pulley is disengaged from the gears by a clutch pedal that when pressed loosens the drive belt and...

Suitable motor for converting petrol garden tractor to electric

I need to buy an electric motor to convert a petrol ride on mower to a mini tractor/ride on. The existing engine is 12hp Briggs and Stratton . The mower deck and a lot of excess weight has been removed from the mower and it is much lighter. I have seen an old DC shunt motor 180v 750w 4.9A...

    Electric throttle for 48v motor

Thanks, yes of course there would be safety cut of switches. They are already on the mower under the seat etc. These would cut off power if someone became unseated. The vehicle wouldn't go more than about 8 mph anyway.

    Electric throttle for 48v motor

Thanks all of you for your input, much appreciated. Basically the mower I am going to use has a throttle that is a lever that goes from low to high and stays in the position it is put in. This speeds up, slows down the engine. When the clutch pedal is pressed and gear is selected and then clutch...

    Electric throttle for 48v motor

Hello, I am converting a petrol ride on mower/grass tractor to electric for my young son. Instead of the throttle that increases speed of the petrol engine I want to install an electric throttle in its place. The throttle needs to be some sort of lever that stays in place at the point it is...

I thought I had replied but it doesn't seem to have logged here !. The ceiling is plasterboard , basically sound but a bit beaten up on the edges. It has been filled in places over many years, I have cleaned/ raked out any loose stuff i.e " back to solid ".

Filling holes in ceiling prior to plastering

Hi, I have taken a wallpaper covering off a landing ceiling and the surface underneath is in ok condition apart from a few areas. These are mainly cracks or gaps where old filler has come loose and now fallen out. It is going to be freshly plastered over eventually. I have cleaned these cracks...

    Site office, portacabin question

Hello, I have been looking at various units to use as a ready made workshop. A lot of the site offices etc have four legs/feet so that if the ground is uneven they can be adjusted. Is it possible, if the ground is level and even , to put the unit directly onto the ground and do without the...
