Hi
I have a 2010 Ford Focus with a bit of a problem. The car is 2 and a half years old and is due its first major service next week. I will be mentioning the problem to the service centre but wouldnt mind a few ideas as to what could be wrong so im armes with a few facts and not 'blind' so to...
Its definetly the low oil pressure warning light that is on (oil can that lights up red) accompanied by a beeping.
Ive more or less parked it up and not driven it because the engine likelly isnt recieving oil.......im thinking oil pump maybe???
The oil level is fine and the car isnt...
Have a 1999 VW Polo, 1 litre petrol engine. 90k on clock
The low oil pressure light warning came on suddenly whilst driving today and also a buzzer. The car also felt 'spluttery' and down on power. Managed to get it home to check the oil which was fine. What with the engine being spluttery i...
thanks for the reply guys,
anychance of a link to the texecon unit oasis?
Failing that will a Reson8 bellbox fit this system? Mate 'likes the look of them' and they are readily available.
Regards.
Got a mate who has the Optima xm6 control panel (i believe the optima was manufactured by honeywell). The external sounder/bell box needs replacing due to damage. He seems to think the alarm system was installed about 17 years ago(dont know if several versions of the panel have been made over...
I would go for a ring circuit myself covering both the office/dining room and the lounge. A 32A ring would be more than adequate for the load you describe. Im a fan of rings myself as they can be advantageous over radials a lot of the time. The problem with rings is they can have faults on them...
im going to check the leads out tomorrow but i think thats a red herring-surelly one wont have failed after 18 month. The plugs are ngk so no worries on that front. i changed the dizzy cap and arm at te same time as the leads so im thinking they are unlikelly to have gone.

Bought my first house back end of last year mate and been busy with a few other ventures so time has been precious. Hopefully be contributing a little bit more now as things have settled down and have a bit more time on my hands.
Yes and No i guess.
They are a lightish tan brown on the 'tip' but the three 'prongs' have a little blackness on them. The old ones i replaced today have been in 18 month though. No one plug looked much different in appearance to any other.
What were you thinking Karlos?
thanks for the input carlos. I replaced the whole lead set in January 2009(sorry forgot to mention) as the lead that controls the 1st cylinder failed. They are a bosch set so not cheapy's. Would they fail this quick?
any ideas why it would seem ok with fresh plugs in but then revert to...
VW Polo 1999. It has a slight misfire under acceleration (more noticeable under heavy acceleration). I removed the plugs and cleaned them up about 2 months ago and it seemed to noticably improve for a few days before going back to as it is. I changed the plugs today and again it improved for a...
I agree with the OP that crimping on solids can sometimes result in a connection that doesnt feel 100% secure. Ive found that using a decent brand of crimps and decent crimpers usually negates the problem though (bit of a bugger cos my wholesaler only seems to stock rubbish!).
I never shy...
Yes you can get 250w metal halide lamps that are for use with starter built into the fitting/control gear.
Generally the E in a triangle found on the lamp means external ignitionj required. An 'I' means the lamp has built in ignition.
Another thing to check is that the low bay you are...
Got to replace a shower in my home and was wondering if any of you guys who fit them often have any recommendations as to a decent one, i.e good flow rate, ect. The max i can go to is 8.5Kw and i would prefer a decent make, i.e Mira.
Regards.
