Got to replace a shower in my home and was wondering if any of you guys who fit them often have any recommendations as to a decent one, i.e good flow rate, ect. The max i can go to is 8.5Kw and i would prefer a decent make, i.e Mira.

Regards.

I normally fit Gainsborough, as they contain far fewer parts than most other models (so less to go wrong), and there are several choices as to where the water pipe / electric cable can enter (so much easier when replacing an existing unit).

Consider the quality of your local water supply. In my part of the world, there is so much limescale in the water that just about any electric shower will probably fail within a very short time. Consequently maintenance costs figures very high on my priority list.

The maximum flow rate will be pretty much fixed, being a function of the power rating and the inlet and outlet water temperature. 8.5KW will heat about 6 litres of water per minute by 20 degrees centigrade, or 4 litres by 30 degrees etc. etc.
