    FCU spur off spur?

Like so? Not sure existing ring cable would reach the usb socket, but I'll have a look. Is this allowed as a DIY job, or does it need signing off?

    FCU spur off spur?

Hi Pretty sure the answer is no, but I'll check.. Got a dishwasher to fit, didn't want the cable running up through worktop to socket, so I want to hard wire into a 13a FCU. Only issue is availability of sockets. Above is two sockets on the ring, left is ring socket, right is a spur off that...

    RCD tripping

Think I've found the problem, its the old screw through a power cable routine... I was doing some work in kitchen yesterday, just pulled it out and looks like I've put a screw into the kitchen ring cable. Funny how it only started tripping today? Anyway, screw is out and electrics are behaving...

    RCD tripping

Thanks, I'll try that now. Seems to be tripping at random now, just the RCD, even with low powered stuff. I'll go unplug everything then test it.

Oven light on when not in use - thermostat?

That's right. So you have the oven control switch unit, then attached to that is a small white module, attached to that is a thin wire that runs down into the oven cavity to a tube that detects temp. On these the thermostat white module/wire can be detached from the switch unit, which is what I...

Oven light on when not in use - thermostat?

Absolutely, I wouldn't expect anyone to diagnose fully without seeing it in person. Thanks for your help. I'll try and locate one of the switch units and replace it. I think you can buy them without thermostat attached for about £30.

Oven light on when not in use - thermostat?

Thanks. The switch still works fine, turns oven on/off etc if that makes a difference? Any idea what could cause that kind of blackening? Anything to be concerned about?

Oven light on when not in use - thermostat?

What does that mean? That the switch is at fault?

Oven light on when not in use - thermostat?

Sorry I've edited my post as it was misleading... it's not the oven light as in internal light, I meant the red light on the front next to the on off dial. That's the one that's always on, even when not in use.

Oven light on when not in use - thermostat?

Hi I have a Rangemaster 110 electric oven, the left hand oven red light is permanently on even when the oven is not turned on (it's been like this quite a long time). After isolating & disconnecting from mains I tested the elements, getting a reading of around 50 on the multimeter, suggesting...

    How are these vented?

Thanks Denso, just seen that on the unit. It's a very, very faded label that's barely visible, if I hold it at a certain angle though then I can read it, says what you just said, that outlet is the vent and not to block it or use a tap on the outlet.

    How are these vented?

The over sink hot water heaters, they are basically small immersion heater tanks aren't they? How are they vented to stop.pressure building up inside as it heats? Is it through the outlet pipe?

Any idea what this connector is?

No, because I just tried it on the boat windscreen and the bit that goes through that the arm mounts on doesn't fit through the hole in the window :ROFLMAO:. The motors are going back.on eBay, unless I can make the hole bigger, in which case, yes, will still be used as a wiper.

Any idea what this connector is?

Yeah,g I could just snip it off and solder on my own connector. Any idea what the green wire would be? Wouldn't be an earth would it?

Any idea what this connector is?

It's off a 2003 Fiat Punto wiper motor. Looking for the corresponding male part to insert in to connect the motor to a 12v leisure battery on a boat. Thanks

    Closed cell expanding foam

Hi Does anyone know if Soudal plasterboard adhesive is closed cell, and therefore does not absorb moisture? Looking for an expanding foam and adhesive to use on a boat. Thanks.
