This may be a little left field but check your bedroom's ceiling light rose. Happened in my last house and I followed the smell back to the light rose which I changed and the smell went.

What should you paint first walls or skirting boards/archatrave. I 've always painted the walls but watching a tv advert I saw the opposite, with the gloss being painted on the skirting board going onto the walls before the wall being painted down to the skirting board.

Thanks for the reply I've 13 rads in total. 1 rad has no TRV (hall where the thermostat is) I've bled all the rads 3 - 4 times and I do get a small amount of air trapped in 2 of the rads. One of the radiators that gurgles has the air trapped in it, the other that gurgles has no air trapped...

I've had TRV's fitted (B&Q ones) and now on a few of radiators I'm getting gurgling noises. Is this normal when water is passing through the valves?
