hi, I have just installed 90mm of insulation between the rafters and am about to put 70mm on the underside of them, I am unsure as to what is the best way of fixing this tightly to the rafters?

done job, the guage was from centres not as I originally thought between batten. DOH!! as for size of batten, it says in the guide what size of batten is required which is 38 x 25

I set it out on the roof using a baton cut to 293 for the spacing. Baton size for tiles I have used is 38x25

looking at the link you have posted I think you might of misunderstood my admittedly bad description.....so I will try again. there was a continuous lean to roof all at the same hight so no problem with the lead flashing chased into brickwork..Now I have extended half of the back of the property...

I wish. No it just has a single board running full length and has never had spindles.

Okay, having done some calcs. I do definately require a purlin if nothing else it will keep the building inspector happy. problem is now how do I attach the purlin to the two sloping walls? Sure this sounds silly but I am a complete novice.
