single skin wall insulation

Hi guys, part of my property I have just extended into has a single skin external brick wall which I need to insulate trying to retain as much space as possible and complying with building regs, having read many different threads on this issue there doesn't seem to be a defining answer, can any one please help.

Your always going to lose space when insulating a single skin wall, you can batten the wall out, insulate, vapour check and board out. There are few varrious methods of doing this.
You can also batten out and board out using materials such as thermaline boards or K18,

thanks, are there regs relating to thickness of insulation, gap between wall and plasterboard etc.

I understand that the thermal U value must be at least 0.3.
Which method are you thinkng og using?

baten and thermaline board as i am guessing this will save me more space than other methods

Will be cheaper to use separate insulation and plasterboard.

The battens will create a gap between board and wall.
Does the wall suffer from any damp problems?

unsure as to if there will be a problem with damp as until recently the wall was external to the main building
