    Change in electrical circumstances

I started rennovating an old farmhouse in 2004, most of the rewire of the upstairs was carried out before 2005 (old colours etc), we've since added an extension with permission under building notice. The main bathroom and kitchen are complete and are on their own ring, so are the upstairs...

    Wiring and Pointed rubblestone walls

All very interesting, yes I am a DIY'er but definately not a botcher, a bit of a perfectionist. I was think of re-training to be an electrician as I am seriously fed up of the job I do now (Business Analyst). I've had experience of this copper stuff before, had no idea what it was called or...

They are all random rubblestone...

    RETAINING WALL 2mX10m

I would contact your local BCO. I would say that the retaining wall is an integral part of the safe construction of the extension (if the wall falls down it will affect the extension). He may need to see structural drawings to prove that the new wall will hold back what it's meant to hold...

Whats the best way to install a level concrete subfloor?

Yes I have already installed and part commissioned a wet UFH system from Nu-heat in the other part of the house. I can recommend it as far as warmth and comfort is concerned and installation was a doddle.

Whats the best way to install a level concrete subfloor?

my ufh spec stated that the pipes had to be clipped to the insulation hence...dig out, sand + wacker plate, DPM, concrete...then insulation, etc. I wanted a smooth flat surface to lay the insulation slabs on. Also, there was no way I could shutter-off the slab so tamping level would have been...

Advice on tiling old stone floor

Why would you want to cover what could be 250yr old flagstones? Are you rennovating or modernising? Take up the flags, lay sub floor, DPM and screed, stick some electric UFH or even wet UFH and re-lay them. Old flags can be worth upto £60 sq.m. You must be mad to want to cover them with...
