    Problem with Aqualisa Quartz Shower

I fitted a Quartz digital shower 2-3 years ago and all has been fine. However recently its developed a fault. When i turn the unit on, either by remote or on the actual unit it fires up for around 5 seconds then resorts to a trickle. If I persevere I can get it to run ok after around 10-12...

    Replacing Gate Valve

I have a leaking gate valve in my airing cupboard. The valve is in lower return (?) pipe from the HWC. I have tried nipping this up but made it worse. Have no problem replacing the valve but my question is how to isolate the valve. I can see there is another valve downstream before it tees...

    Shower Head Leaking

Oops no wonder it wouldnt come apart! This is a bit of a problem then as the shower unit is one of the "microphone" type that retracts into the side of the bath which means its a bath out job! Unless anyone has any bright ideas?

    Fixing Skirting Boards

HI What is the best method for fixing skirting boards? Mine are 5" and are going onto both external (block) walls and internal stud walls. Used "no more nails" in the past but a few of these came off at a later date (no doubt after a few bangs with the hoover!) Read more...

    Electronic Ballast?

I have an illuminated mirror in the bathroom which has stopped working. I have checked it over and it appears to be the electronic ballast. Its a 2x13W T5 Spec. Problem is I am having trouble locating a supplier for a new one. Been on plenty of sites via google but they all seem very...

I have a traditional heating system with hot water tank in the airing cupboard and a boiler downstairs which feeds the hot water tank and rads via a 3 way valve. The rads do not have thermostatic valves. The problem I have is the radiator in the dining room which is cold. I have read some...

What jigsaw blade do i need for worktop

Cheers for replies. Hopefully B&Q will have them in tomorrow. I assume i set the saw speed to max? Will be cutting from the top as its easier to mark the sink out. Re the pendulum it can be on or off then? The sink as you say will hide any rough edge.

    Problem with Shower

How long do you think it would take to bring the hwc up to temp? Just wondering as thats the time needed for the system to recuperate between showers! If this time is too long then I will have to upgrade the system which I guess will mean replacing the hwc with a bigger unit or replacing...

    Problem with Shower

No the digital shower unit in the loft regulates the temperature. However the shower kept cutting out (see orig post) - this seems to be due to the shower unit receiving insufficient hot water to meet the required temperature setting and therefore cuts out. So it seems either the flow wasnt...
