    Stencil Seal??

Thanks for your reply. I searched the internet and found an article that said Mod Podge was the product to use. Luckily, and I have no idea why, I had some in the shed. I've put it on with a sponge brush and it's worked a treat. Like you said though, it's left a sheen on the surface but I've...

    Wifi Extender

I don't mind about paying a price for a decent one. Because I have a 1930s house the wifi isn't great when passing through the thick walls. The range is around 10 metres max from my router to where I would like the wifi signal to be strong. I've got plugs everywhere and they are nicely hidden...

    Wifi Extender

Good evening all, As I've been going through the rooms in my house I have been adding CAT 6 sockets to enable a wired internet access for TVs/games consoles etc. We have just had the house extended and I was away with my job and no one put any RJ45s in the room (which happens to be the...

Thanks. That does look the part but there are 5 people in our household at the minute. Do they do a beefier version?

    City Plumbing Water Softener.

Hi I'm on the look out for a built in water softener to sit in a cupboard in the utility room right next to my incoming water supply. Has anyone had experiences with using the ones from city plumbing? And how do I know which one is a good one? Thanks

    Brushes

Hi I'm no professional and I hate painting!!! But I always buy new Harris brushes when I do a room. I even find it easier to cut in with their 3" brush. They cost about £4 from B and M.

    Stencil Seal??

Good Afternoon All, Ive recently put a stencil on my kitchen wall and although it took over 4 hours to get it perfect, sections of it keep coming away from the wall. Does anyone have any ideas on if there is a product on the market that I can apply over the top that will prevent this from...

    Water Softener??

I've had a few quotes for the softeners and I think I am going to go ahead. Quick question though, I've been told that I will need to bypass my kitchen tap as the water that is softened is no good to drink. Is that true? And if so what is the best way to do this to maximise the device?

    Water Softener??

Cool. I've filled in the form for a quote so hopefully they'll get back to me. Why do I need a quote? I'm guessing there isn't just one to choose from?

    Water Softener??

Hi bob, Thanks for your reply. I had a little chuckle to myself when I saw what predictive text had done this time to make me look an idiot! Do you have a link to any sofeners you have in mind just so I can have a look? Regards

    Water Softener??

good morning all, Now we have decided to renovate the kitchen I am going to incorporate a shout oftener. I thought they were just small devices that lived under the sink but how wrong I was!!! We have plenty of cupboard space where the water comes into the house through a utility room so was...

I do sometimes use google for ideas but I'd rather speak to someone who has experience in doing it for advise. Great website though.

    Concrete amount??

Noseall, That's great, thanks. But....what's ballast? Lol Is that sand and aggregate mixed? What mixing ratio do you recommend? I was thinking 4 to 1 but once again, not really sure.

Good morning Andy, It came up at 1.13m3, doesn't sound a lot. What do you think? Also it doesn't say how big of a bag indeed of each. Sorry for the questions but like I said, I'm completely new to laying concrete!! Regards

    Old Junction box replacement

Looking at those multi JBs, I'm a little unsure if it'll do the job. Most of the pictures I've seen have both the lighting cct and respective switch going to it. My set up is kind of like a distribution board. There is one feed coming from the CU down stairs and then 6 circuits/ceiling roses...

    Old Junction box replacement

Yes the JB will be accessible. Ideally I would like to put it on the slope of the roof but I would have to extend all the circuits if I did that. I guess it would be a big job just extra work that probably isn't required.
