Shower trays - ABS Acrylic capped polyurethane foam v stone resin?

OK, thanks for that. I'll be doing it that way, but once it's installed, it's in for good so just needed to be convinced.

Fair enough, seems the concensus is behind Mira Flight, so I'll check them out. Not coming up on the Screwfix site though looks like Plumbase have them.

Shower trays - ABS Acrylic capped polyurethane foam v stone resin?

Not sure I like the look of the construction of Mira trays underneath, not too solid looking especiially when the legs are shown in place. Pretty sure I wouldn't be using the legs, but all looks very plasticky underneath. Don't suppose Screwfix stock them 'in store', but I'll check.

Shower trays - ABS Acrylic capped polyurethane foam v stone resin?

There goes the budget then.:( I had noticed the special offer was everlasting, there are similar countdowns on many of the plumbing furniture websites now, so they must use the same web designer. Regarding spares, is a 90mm waste hole standard, because it seems that only VP supply trays with...

Shower trays - ABS Acrylic capped polyurethane foam v stone resin?

OK, I'll see what google says about them. I usually like to buy from a shop if possible, but they are competitive on price.

Are there problems with Victoria Plum / Victorian Plumbing?

Shower trays - ABS Acrylic capped polyurethane foam v stone resin?

True. The floor is coming up anyway, to be replaced with water resistant chipboard and marine ply in the shower area, so I could do it then.

Shower trays - ABS Acrylic capped polyurethane foam v stone resin?

Thanks flameport. The house was built in the 1940's so I'm just concerned about a fixed cement structure being effected by any flex in the old wooden joists, that's all.

Shower trays - ABS Acrylic capped polyurethane foam v stone resin?

As far as I know, there is clearance under the floor boards for the waste/pipe work and the joists go the right way to allow the wastepipe to be fitted along side. So long as a cement base is OK to use on a wooden suspended floor....

Shower trays - ABS Acrylic capped polyurethane foam v stone resin?

My worry with a leg support system is that the weight of the person in the shower is not evenly distributed. Then again, an acrylic bath with shower over is similar I suppose and at least the legs can be adjusted in future if required. Choices, choices ! Probably going to stick with a low stone...

Shower trays - ABS Acrylic capped polyurethane foam v stone resin?

That's what I was thinking, but a second opinion is always helpful ! During my trawl of the 'net about this I found Coram trays. They are riser trays, so much higher than what I was planning, but they have sturdy adustable legs fitted. This promises quicker installation, another key factor due...

Shower trays - ABS Acrylic capped polyurethane foam v stone resin?

I was all set to buy a stone resin shower tray from VictoriaPlum but noticed that they also sell a foam one too, £40 cheaper. As I'm replacing the complete bathroom, any cost saving is of interest, but not at the expense of quality. It will be on a first floor with t+g flooring that I was...

Worx 373.2 combi drill clatter ( noisy pawl?)

Thanks. In fact I tried a Dewalt brushless combidrill at Screwfix yesterday and it sounded very similar, so it's just the the way they sound then, unlike any other drill I've owned.

Do I need to tank old plastered walls for a shower cubicle install?

The bathroom is currrently tiled top to bottom on block built and plastered walls, including around the bath where the current shower is installed. The plan is to put in a shower cubicle as part of a complete rehash of the bathroom. Reading through the forum and online, I'm not convinced...

Worx 373.2 combi drill clatter ( noisy pawl?)

Worx 373.2 20v Li-on brushless combi drill. Just bought one of these and upon giving the trigger a quick squirt, the accompanying brief clattering noise when it's released is alarming, like gears smashing. I took it back and bought another- exactly the same. If there is a load applied, such as...

Recently installed in duct extraction fan making hooting/resonance sound.

prenticeboyofderry, I see that you have posted in reply to my post in the electrics sections, for some reason I do not have sufficient priviliges to reply, even though it is my own thread? However, to answer your question, the distance it has to suck is 1m and to blow is 0.5m. I did some...

Recently installed in duct extraction fan making hooting/resonance sound.

If you're right foxhole, I may just go back to the supplier and see what they say before the 1 year warranty expires. Actually, it may have a 3 year warranty, I'll have to check... JohnD, the blades spin freely and there is no roughness or freeplay in the bearing that I can detect. It does have...

Recently installed in duct extraction fan making hooting/resonance sound.

Hmmm, not sure 5 mins would clear the residual moisture at all and any case I don't want to compromise due to alledged poor quality. Manrose seemed to have a good reputation, better than Ventaxia and the like, which is why I chose them. Any suggestions for a better quality unit? If it was a...

Resonance from inline extractor fan. DUPLICATE THREAD

I posted this elswhere, but it was suggested this may be a better section. A few months ago I installled a Manrose 100T in duct fan in the attic. The only noise you could hear was the air moving through the fan, but another noise is becoming more noticeable. It's keeping me awake until the fan...

Recently installed in duct extraction fan making hooting/resonance sound.

Do you mean the outlet on the unit or on the outside of the wall? Not sure what you mean by baffle, so I googled 'vent outlet baffle' and it shows the backddraft flap that is already fitted in line along the ducting. Not the same? With the ducting removed, it still makes the noise and slight...
