7mm gap in shower corner, silicone or grout then silicone over?

Hi, which is the best method for a shower internal corner, sorry if these are silly questions. I had been trying to leave about a 3mm gap between the tiles in the corner so I could run a bead of silicone up it. The measurement on the bottom tile went a bit wrong and after checking the gap it is...

Chipped porcelain tile - can you glue the chip?

We're laying fairly large (600 x 300) porcelain tiles. On one that is going on the window cill the corner was chipped when cutting (score and snap). The chip will be at the back of the cill and am contemplating whether it can be glued back onto the tile as we are low on tiles. The chip fits back...

    Tiling round a window

Thanks Will that's really helpful and now I know how to get the ledge and sides looking straight. I'm not sure where it's best to have the tile trim. From what I can think of we have two options both with pros and cons. Either inside the window reveal Trim inside window reveal by Kitsune...

    Tiling round a window

I'm looking for some advice on how to tile round a window. In what order should the tiling be done is it the wall first and then the window reveal, I also have some straight edge trim that we might use. The window ledge is also not quite level. Photo of the window below, the tiling will go more...

    Skirting Deeper than door frame

Sorry I'm being a bit thick, quick and dirty do you mean to bevel cut the end so it slopes to be level with the door lining, does it have to be from the front or can it be done from the back. The other way isn't really an option as it is the door lining that it protrudes from, there is no...

    Skirting Deeper than door frame

The skirting I'd like to put on our walls is about 5-6mm deeper than the door frame, see pic below, sorry it's a bit blurry. Walls had to be dot and dabbed which brought the wall out, how can we get the skirting to fit level? Skirting is Torus 18mm deep. Thanks

    Water based Polyurethane varnish recommendation

Thanks misterhelpful no mention on the data sheet about bathrooms, but it shouldn't get a lot of water on it anyway. Failing that is there an oil based one that definitely won't yellow or change the appearance of the bamboo. The Rustoleum appears difficult to get hold of in the uk

    Water based Polyurethane varnish recommendation

That may be why I'm having trouble finding them but I've found at least one, Johnstone's do a quick drying one. The trouble with oil based is yellowing and one I found described the varnish as mellow which makes me think it will alter the finish of the bamboo which is something I don't want.

    Tanking on new plaster

Great thank you you've been really helpful. Sorry I have more silly questions, I was just getting ready to tank and the silicone sealant between the shower tray and wall still feels sticky so I'm guessing hasn't fully cured. As the tape and Mapegum goes slightly onto the tray I'm guessing the...

    Tanking on new plaster

Thanks Richard I think we will risk it as it is only a little over and we are using Keraflex adhesive and the walls are nice and flat now, so won't be like the situations you mentioned. With tanking, which we have decided to do, we have a small window in the shower area, so we would need to...

    Tanking on new plaster

Tiles are borderline in the weight department about 18kg and then the adhesive on top, we had changed from natural stone because of weight but the porcelain ones are pretty heavy too. Just out of interest what is meant to happen if the tiles are too heavy, do they pull the skim off the wall has...
