Hardie Backer Board Or Plywood Substrate + Homelux Membrane

I've bought Excel Bond Rapid Flex Adhesive for the marble floor tiles. If I were to use Hardie Backer boards on top of 18mm ply would this adhesive be the correct stuff for going onto 6mm Hardie Board? When I bought the tiles I told the guy I was putting them down on at least 18mm plywood...

Hardie Backer Board Or Plywood Substrate + Homelux Membrane

Great thanks very much for the advice! It certainly is confusing for the non experienced and as you've said there's lots of conflicting advice on the forums amongst diyers and professionals alike. Tis a bit of a minefield! If it works though, I guess there are no clear wrong or rights ways...

Hardie Backer Board Or Plywood Substrate + Homelux Membrane

I realise there's lots of info already on these forums concerning the questions I'm about to ask, so please excuse me asking them again. My post is really just to summarise what I plan doing and see if I am definitely applying the right materials and techniques. You'll have to excuse my naivety...

    Upgrade Boiler / Cyclinder

I am in the process of planning my bathroom. What started out as a basic change of suite is just escalating into more proposed work, however if it gets me to the end result without too much excessive cost then all is good. I have ordered a steam shower bath cubicle thingy, which comprises...

Shower Pump Fit to shower pipes only

Ah right. Blimey that's a good distance then. I'm guessing mine's only about 1.5 metres at most so looks like I will need a pump. Blimey this is just getting more and more complicated. Me and my bright ideas about doing my bathroom :)

Shower Pump Fit to shower pipes only

The unit specs say that a minimum of 2 bar water pressure is needed. Am I assuming right that this will need a pump. I don't really know what the standard sort of pressure is for a gravity fed system is.

Shower Pump Fit to shower pipes only

Thanks for the reply I'm guessing this is not something that should be tackled by a amateur diyer then. Sounds a bit out of my depth. Is there no type of shower pump that could be installed under the bath?

Tiling Bathroom Floor - Replacing Chipboard Flooring

Hey thanks for the advice. Where's the best place to buy 25mm plywood from? B&Q and Wickes don't seem to stock it this thick. At least they don't on their websites. Thanks, Daz

    Relocating Soil Pipe Venting

An AAV is not an option as I previously said because its the only stack vent and the highest overflow would be the sink so defeats the object if it's the sink I'm trying to accomodate in the place of the soil pipe! Just wanna know feasibility of rerouting and if anyone has done similar. I...

    Relocating Soil Pipe Venting

Thanks for the reply. No I have no other open stack so can't fit an AAV. I've read the Building regs and even emailed building control who replied back: "I am sorry but we are unable to answer your querie as we can only comment on work not covered in the Building Regulations. The only...

    Relocating Soil Pipe Venting

I hope I've done this right but I have attached a few of pictures to try and make it clearer. Excuse the crudity of the drawing. Option 1 Taking the soil pipe outside and up the exterior wall Option 2 Rerouting the soil pipe vent across to the side wall and up into the loft...

    Relocating Soil Pipe Venting

Hey thanks for the reply. I've been looking for that building regs documentation. Looks like I can reduce the pipe to 75mm. But doesn't seem to say whether it's ok to move the pipe outside or whether it's ok to reroute the pipe.
