    glowworm micron 60ff

Hi - I have the same boiler, and it had a fault which seems very similar to yours a year ago. It would fire up, run for a short time, then go off, then restart. It was the fan that required replacement, it was running, but not at full speed, thereby not venting the boiler properly. A new fan...

Thanks for that , I usually do leave heating on if the place is empty in the winter, but, wasn't entirely sure that it was ok to leave the water off ( cutting off the header tank supply.) Thanks for the info.

Safe to run heating with water turned off?

With the cooler weather coming, and the possibility of leaving the house empty whilst on holiday, I'm wondering if its ok to turn off the water stop tap, but leave the heating ( vented fully pumped system with header tank ) on low. Grateful for any advice.

Yes, can't fault the reliability ! Thanks for your reply, I think you are probably right. In the meantime, I have vacuumed the coils at the back and 'renovated' the door seal and it seems a bit better.

All cars now use wireless keyless locking - surely this means a wireless signalling system is secure, or how could motor manufacturers be using it? It puzzles me how it might be thought to be unsafe, particularly considering the number of cars all in close proximity,(eg in a car park) but each...

    Replacement keypad for Scantronic 9800

I had the same problem with my scantronic 9800, and decided to have it replaced by the alarm company with a new panel. However, before replacing it I learnt that a scantronic 9827RKP (also obsolete incidentally) would operate the system, and these do sometimes appear on ebay. There is a slight...

    High opacity matt paint

Hi I wondered if anyone could advise- I am having a hallway, stairs and landing re painted, in white. The last time it was painted dulux trade vinyl matt was used. The house is a victorian semi.
