Hotpoint washing machine leaking from inside somewhere???

Hello all Not too clued up on the internals of washing machines but am willing to open it up if it might be a relatively easy thing to see. Im just not too sure how to go about it though. Let me explain...... The washing machine draws in water without a problem, washes the clothes without...

How well do wireless stats work through walls?

So far from what i can gather the Honeywells are very good, but obviously you pay for it. I was hoping of getting something like the Salus RT500 to do simple controls of the temprature. Plus i do like the looks of them, especially the blue control panel. Is there a reliability issue with...

How well do wireless stats work through walls?

This may be a slightly silly question but im looking at getting a programmable thermostat for the house and i was looking at either the Salus RT500 or the Salus RT500RF. Would be intrested in the RF version but not sure how well it would cope with the stat being located in the living room...

Mains Water pipe coming into the house.

[/url] Yeah i didnt think the plastic pipe would be prone to rot or much degradation of any kind, unless the ground moved enough to split it open, which is also very highly unlikely. Just been reading on Northumbrian Waters website (they're my supplier), and yes they will repair the supply...

Mains Water pipe coming into the house.

I too thought the chances were quite slim, as the pipe is plastic and buried that far underground that frost isnt really going to be an issue. However, could water possibly freeze in it though? I know the water company is responsible to the external stopcock, but from there to the internal...

Mains Water pipe coming into the house.

Thank you very much, now that you've pointed me in the right direction iv looked at the internal stopcock and indeed it is a blue plastic pipe coming into it from the outside. And obviously a house thats only 20-25 years old shouldnt get this sort of a problem, but this is why i was trying to...

Baxi 105e Instant heating rads whilst CH is switched OFF?

The hot water seems hot enough, but iv switched the pre-heat off, thinking this will help me solve the problem with the rads. But other than the fact that it now takes longer to get the hot water out of the tap, it hasnt done anything to stop the rads heating up. Is there anything i can do to...

Baxi 105e Instant heating rads whilst CH is switched OFF?

My boiler is playing some sort of a game with me and i dont understand whats going on, or quite frankly hows its managing to do it. But under normal circumsatnces the boiler does its job pretty well, heats the house when its timed to do so, and heats the water when the hot water tap is...

Mains Water pipe coming into the house.

Im trying to find out what the mains water pipe coming into the house from the street would be made out of? Ceramic, lead, plastic etc etc. Reason being that i havnt had much luck with this house in the year iv been here as things have generally gone more wrong for me than i think is fair...

De-scaling the inside of a shower.

My shower is fitted in such a manner that it cant really be removed from the wall without some extensive work. But since its fitment about 8 months ago, i now have to set the temp gauge noticeably higher to get the same water temprature as i could get from a lower setting a few months ago. To...

Keeping Frogs out of the Gardens

Keeping Frogs out of the Gardens

Yeah thats another fun thought, when the mower comes out and you end up plastering them everywhere. Even when you say you removed so much of the spawn, your saying that there were still plentiful that were left behind an survived? But i take it as you never did get rid of them then?

Keeping Frogs out of the Gardens

Like i said, he gets hundreds of frogs in his garden, hence why so much spawn. Once the little buggers grow up though, they stop at nothing to come back to where they were spawned, and then you get a continual problem. But you're right, their survival rate isnt very high at all. Oh yeah...

Keeping Frogs out of the Gardens

You may not be a "frog expert" my friend, but you certainly know more than me, which is always a good start. However, your expertise has raised a further few questions, if i may probe your brain for them:- What is the mating season? And what do they do for the rest of the year? The big...

Keeping Frogs out of the Gardens

Did this help with the getting rid of them, or atleast cutting down the numbers, or were you just doing this constantly? My mate who i was talking about above, has said he once pulled out about 50 gallons of frog spawn from his pond. Now imagine if they all had grown!!!!

Keeping Frogs out of the Gardens

So whats this about stopping them by raising the pond by 18" off the ground? Whats the theory behind that then, can they not sense it or something? Raising the pond was not something i want to do as it would spoil the view from the conservotary, but if it means keeping out the frogs then...

Keeping Frogs out of the Gardens
