Peeling paint, mould & way forward

The fan is a Greenwood Airvac, 150mm2 with around 80m3/hr extraction rate. I often leave it for at least 30mins after the shower, often longer. There is a gap of around .5-1 inch under the door. I did look at more powerful fans, but couldn't find one of the same size. It's the coldest room...

Peeling paint, mould & way forward

Right, sorry for late reply. The room is around 3mx3mx2.5m. The extractor fan comes on with the light (around 80 m3/hr), but we leave it on for around 30 mins after having a shower. Recently we've started opening the window. It has a flat roof, but the problem is definitely...

Peeling paint, mould & way forward

thanks guys - unfortunately I've done all I can to cure the condensation problem (fan, opening window, heating, insulation). Short of moving out I'm not sure what else we could do :) I'll try the bleach and eggshell thing and see how I go. The weird thing is, the old paint never flaked off...

Peeling paint, mould & way forward

Hi, I've had a good search around in the forums but seem to get conflicting answers. Could anyone help with my problem? My bathroom had mould spots on the paint (it's the coldest room in the house), and so I sugar soaped, used mould killer, and painted over with 2 coats of satin...

    Bathroom woes

Me again - I think the only way around it is too up the fan. At the moment it's a 4'', but I think the only way of noticeably increasing the capacity is to fit a 6''. Am I allowed to do this myself? and what's the best way about increasing the hole? thanks!

    Bathroom woes

thanks fo your replies. The duct is not blocked, goes straight to outside. There is a gap of about 1 cm below the door. It doesn't have a timer as there isn't a switch live, but it does come on with the light, and I leave it on for around 20mins after a shower. Yes I did get it wrong - I...

    Bathroom woes

Hi, I'm fighting a losing battle trying to eliminate mould from my bathroom. It's single storey flat roof with two outside walls and a window. I had cavity wall insulation fitted in spring but it seems to have made no difference at all. The problem I have is with condensation running down...

Vokera Linea 726 hot water problems

I'm not sure what the noise is, but sounds similar to the one it makes when you run the hot tap. I've got a service booked in next week but wasn't sure if that would fix it. Fingers crossed. In the meantime I'll keep boiling the kettle! thanks for your help

Vokera Linea 726 hot water problems

Hi, Just recently the hot water has been playing up - sometimes it's fine, sometimes it's cold, and sometimes it runs hot then cold. I've reset it several times to no avail. No error codes are showing. It does seem to be making a lot more noise than it used to - as though it's trying to heat...

    Triton Opal permanently hot

hi there, it was fine without the shower head on, so I took the whole thing apart and descaled it again. I think it must have been screwed on too tight, blocking some of the holes. many thanks for your help - I can now wash my hair properly! :D

    Triton Opal permanently hot

Hi, The temperature dial no longer works when the shower is on setting II - it's just permanently very hot. I've started using setting I, and the dial works fine. I've recently descaled the shower head, and the hose is only about 6 months old. Any ideas what it could be? many thanks :?

    Triton Opal shower hot cold

hi, just wanted to say thanks for your help - I descaled the shower head, and replaced the PRD and fingers crossed all is back to normal! so thank you - wouldn't have had the confidence to do it otherwise, but now I feel I'm on very good terms with my Triton Opal :D

    Triton Opal shower hot cold

I wasn't in the shower at the time so didn't notice the ball. The showerhead is Triton, but I vaguely remember the hose wasn't. Have ordered new PRD & new Triton hose anyway, and will also descale showerhead. Sounds like too much of a coincidence - was changed 4 months ago. Fingers...

    Triton Opal shower hot cold

once the PRD has been activated, does it need replacing? Water was still flowing out through the PRD after took the hose off at the base of the shower unit. Both the hose and the shower head are fairly new, much newer than the unit. Is there anything else which could trigger the PRD and...

    Triton Opal shower hot cold

yes, the clear tube. Just taken the head off, water comes out of the shower pipe, but also out the clear tube at the same time. The low pressure light isn't on, but is this a problem with pressure? thanks for persevering :)

    Triton Opal shower hot cold

Right, there are no blackened connections on either TCO. I've checked the filter on the inlet pipe, that also looks fine. Just after I posted last time, the water started coming out the outlet pipe instead. That's still the case. :x Any ideas?

    Triton Opal shower hot cold

I think it's this rather than the water pressure as there's no click and it's not affected by other taps etc. Just took the outside off but there are no obvious blackened connections. The TCO on this model seems to sit at the top from what I can find out, is that right? There's lots of dust...
