Hi Kev, Thanks for reply - was going to put an isolation valve, so glad am along the right lines! Some manufacturers specifically say do not put a non-return valve in to allow the pump to vent back if need be - is this the case with the Stuart Turner Monsoon ones? Am I right in thinking...

Please don't shoot me down in flames - Am looking to install a Stuart turner monsoon single pump on a dedicated feed from a communal hot water supply that runs through our flats - are there any valves that should be installed between this feed and the pump? Thanks for any help!

additionally i cannot install this pump on a dedicated hot feed - is this a problem?

or should I be looking at stuart turner?

Hi Guys, Thanks for the advice - I agree - yesterday was the first time i've had a look at the electrics under the oven since we bought the place - and I thought to myself i'd better get that off the floor the cable is embossed with 2 x 6 + 2.5 sq mm - so that means this is 6mm as well...

Hi guys - would be great to get some advice from you.... I am installing a new toilet in our first floor flat - the soil pipe will be approximately 10mm lower that the outlet from the toilet - i'm assuming that the right type of adaptor will sort this out, the soil pipe is fixed into position...

sorry i didnt mean to come across like it had already been decided. was just digging down into detail that i could put all the whole tiles on the wall, seal the ones to be cut, put them on the wall, the seal the whole lot and then grout. I just have a heck of a lot of tiles!

i'm intending to seal them all - just once they're on the wall before i grout... and just seal the ones that need cutting before they go on the wall

as far as i can make out the manufaturer recommends sealing before cutting and grouting, nothing is mentioned about fixing... thats why i wondered about doing it like this as they are smallish tiles and potentially a nightmare job

main hot water pipe running through the flat is 40mm / 1.5" is that good? what sort of output pump should i fit?
