Yes, the House is TNCS an SWA cable feeds the outbuilding, only two core and the armouring is earthed from the house only and stops at the outbuilding, then an electrode is earthing the outbuilding

My Zs reading was around 8ohms and my Ze was 5ohms for definate as i retested a few times, now as the outbuilding is protected by a 30mA RCD then i am lead to believe this is fine and complies with the regs

if you had a high Zs reading on circuit on a TT system but the TT system is ok on Ze (5 ohms) does the regs state that if the circuit is protected by an RCD then it can be waivered?

ive just read up on it, and im running SWA from the house so the Steel will be earthed from the house and if there are no extranoeus in the garage then i can earth the garage from the house ill RCD the circuits in the garage and not from the house, but if there are extraneous ill earth the steel...

Is there still a requirement for earth electrodes to be installed on an outbuilding if you are running a feed from the house to a garage type building?
Plus is it still regs that you earth the cable from the house but not at the outbuilding end?
or can i get away with not installing...

Mant thanks guys, i take it thats why the sockets are fed by 1.5 flex as they are both protected by a 10A MCB, well if i wanted to extend the sockets i may aswell spur off each one and as long as they are not all used at the same time then im sure it will be ok as they are all protected by 10A...
