    Neighbour cut off my water.

My neighbour showed me the piece of lead pipe that had been cut out and the internal bore didn't look much bigger than 15mm but the copper pipe looked like standard copper pipe to me. When I told him about the pressure/flow reduction since yesterday he said that he wouldn't be concreting in...

    Neighbour cut off my water.

No it's definately lead, something else I forgot to mention which Im also not happy about is that he used 15mm copper pipe to go from the lead to the stopcocks. As far as I'm aware copper pipe should not be used underground plus I think it will add to the restriction that the stopcock has created.

    Neighbour cut off my water.

Was your neighbour's garage connected previously? If the answer is no then the plumber has obviously connected your neighbour's garage to the wrong supply pipe! The garage has just been built and there was no water previously.

    Neighbour cut off my water.

Having now spoken to my neighbour the diagram I posted was not correct so here's how it should have looked. I think the plumber should have connected into my neighbours side of the Y and left mine alone. I said previously he worked on the pipe live and yes he did get wet, according to...

    Neighbour cut off my water.

The stopcocks fully open, but I thought it may cause a restiction as it wont be as free flowing as the original piece of 1" pipe thats been cut out.

    Neighbour cut off my water.

The stopcock would only have to be removed and a straight coupler put in it's place to put things back as they were. Reading between the lines I think the plumber left the stopcock in place so he didn't have to work on it live. I've added a picture to make it clearer.

    Neighbour cut off my water.

Been round to see neighbour but not in so had a look at what he had done. He's fitted an access cover tube over the stopcock the plumber fitted to my supply pipe but I'm not happy as my water pressure seems down a bit and surely an extra stopcock will cause a restriction. I don't want to...

    Neighbour cut off my water.

I going to ask him today to put it back to how it was as you've said I didn't think he was allowed to put a stop cock on my supply then cover it even if it is on his property. The plumber cut into the lead mains pipe live according to neighbour so I guess he would have to do the same again...

    Neighbour cut off my water.

My next door neighbour had a plumber round today to break into what he thought was his incoming supply . Very annoying as I was in the shower at the time and thought something had gone wrong with it not realising the cold supply had been cut off for quite some time after I had checked out the...

    Travertine questions.

Could I not just use wall grout for the floor or will it cause a problem. The only tile shop locally is Topps and from what I've read are not very knowledgeable, I will go have a look and see what they say. Where's cheapest online for lithofin and is stainstop mn the one to use.

    Bathroom downlights

How many 50w gu10 ip65 fire rated downlights should be installed in a bathroom 2.6m x 2.1m. There will also be 8 single white led deck lights installed more for effect than to give out light. When funds allow I will replace the gu10 50w halogens with deltech 5w led gu10s so with this in mind...

    Travertine questions.

Hopefully next week will be starting to lay 24s qm of classic honed and filled travertine 610mm x 406mm 12mm thick on the walls and floor with a mosaic border in my bathroom but unsure about a few things. Which is the best pattern! I originally was going to do brick bond with 2mm spacers but...

    Large travertine tiles

Just realised the tile cutter I bought a rexon rtc200a doesn't have enough stroke for 610mm tiles according to toolsave website it will only cut 330mm is there anyway I could use this cutter or do I have to buy another with a longer than 610mm stroke.
