    range oven height issue

Thanks both for your help. That is the complete opposite that someone else has told me. He said that if they were supposed to be shorter, then plinths and panels would be made to suit. The reason they need to be altered for appliances are due to cheap and poor quality of them. He said...

    range oven height issue

Hi PrenticeBoyofDerry. I am not a kitchen fitter, but have fitted 2 in the past on previous houses I've bought (almost identical to this one). The ranges I previously fitted were double the price of this one and there were no issues. The legs were long enough and the grill vent covered...

    range oven height issue

Hi kbdiy. I've only fitted one corner base unit, but it's at the correct height for the plinth. There's also an end panel fitted, which is a couple of mm off the floor. I don't think there's an issue with the units, maybe the worktop is slightly to thick. I just can't see why the legs...

    range oven height issue

Hi PrenticeBoyofDerry. I cannot raise the front as you will see what I have used to raise it. There is no grill to cover it. I have used the legs to increase the height and you can see the legs and also a gap under the oven. Cheers.

    range oven height issue

Hi. I have just started to fit my kitchen and I'm having problems with the range oven. The units and worktop are 915 high and the oven is 900 high. I want it to finish about 5mm higher than the worktop, but the legs are not long enough. The back is raised to the correct height, but I...

    Grout residue

Yes, it is new grout. I cleaned the tiles in the normal way, but because of the way they have been made the grout is difficult to remove with water and a sponge. It has now gone hard and so it is difficult to remove. I'll give the Meths a try and if I have no joy I'll get the HG. Cheers.

    Grout residue

Thanks. I'll give that a go. It's similar to a wire wheel that you put in a drill, but the wires are covered in a sandpaper finish. The tiles have a really rough finish and the colour is random, so you cannot notice anything from the wheel. I haven't tried methylated spirits yet. I...

    Grout residue

Hi. Can someone please tell me what chemical or other way of removing dried on grout from tiles. The tiles i've used are Porcelain and are not smooth, they have a grip, sandpaper like finish. I've cleaned them 4 times, used a sandpaper drill wheel and it's taking ages to remove. Cheers.

    Leaking actuator

Thanks. I think it could be the cartridge that needs replacing.

    Leaking actuator

It states 3 way diverter valve and the actuator connects onto it. Cheers.

    Leaking actuator

Hi. I have recently had to replace the PCB on my boiler and found out that there was water dropping on it from the joint between the actuator and the diverter valve. The new board has been pulled out of the way. The drip is hardly anything, but enough to damage the board. I have removed...

    Childs playhouse

Hi. I am putting together a child's playhouse and positioning it on grass. It is 6x6 and on 90mm stilt legs. I have been told by the manufacturer to use the post spikes on each leg, but someone else has told me not to use them as they will slowly sink during the wet weather. I don't...

    Solar water pump conversion

I'm looking to buy a water feature, but the place where I want to put it will be to difficult to run power to. I've looked at the solar power ones, but they are limited in design. Someone said that I could buy other parts and connect it via a solar panel. Thanks.

    Garage roof

Thanks for the advice. I've just contacted a company who do these sheets and he explained exactly what they do. He said they are an update to boarding and felting before laying the sheets. They work out a lot cheaper than the older method as well. They also come in lengths that will...

    Garage roof

Hi. A friend has just bought a house and he is having some issues with the garage. It has a pent roof of around 5 degrees and has steel profile sheets on. It is not in very good condition anyway and he is getting damp on the underside and wants to completely renew it. Would buying the...

    Flat roof leaking

Hi. My neighbour has just asked me to have a look at her roof as she was getting water coming through the ceiling in her bedroom. It is a flat roof dormer that starts about 4 tiles down from the ridge. When I had a look there was a mass of water covering 70% of the roof and it was also...
