    SWA for 2 sockets

Thank you, there are loads of sockets 1 end but none at the other where the new units are going. I was going to run cable from an existing plug as it isn't used (for the fridge plus spare double) but when the electrician started on about routing a 10mm swa outside I assumed he was right as he's...

    SWA for 2 sockets

I have found a route which will involve trunking but better than going outside. I'll do this bit myself then get an electrician to wire it up. Would 6mm be ok for a double oven, around 5.3kw on 32A fuse? What size would I need to run for the 2 sockets? Many thanks

    SWA for 2 sockets

No, just standard kettle. The electrician said 10mm swa for the double oven, then another 10mm swa going the other way for the 2 sockets we need, fridge freezer on 1, then double socket above worktop for kettle and a spare. I thought 10mm was a bit excess after a little research but am here to...

    SWA for 2 sockets

Hi, Need to run cable outside from consumer unit to put 2 sockets in kitchen (unit at front, kitchen at rear). 1 socket dedicated to integral fridge freezer, other 1 a double on worktop for kettle. Length is approx 60ft, would a 2.5mm cable be adequate? I'm running cable then electrician to do...

SWA cable for new cooker ring

Hi, Need to run a cable outside the house then back in to the consumer unit. Length around 60ft as easier this way than lifting all the glued down boards outside. Is 10mm overkill as it's just 1 built in double oven around 4 _ 5.5kw depending on model. I'll be running the cable and getting it...

    New ovens in kitchen

Sorry, they are all supplied with a plug 1 single oven, 1 compact oven and 1 induction hob. On the consumer unit are 4 x B32, 1 x B40, 2 x B16 and 3 x B6, they didn’t even bother to label which circuit is for which area. Aporecreplues and if there's anything else that could help please let me know

    Why turn off upstairs radiators

All radiators have trvs on them. Upstairs is no problem, it's the fact we just can't heat the living room above 19/20 degrees. Boiler is 2 years old with an optimum wireless thermostat which is in the living room as it's the coldest place.

    Why turn off upstairs radiators

I have been told I'll save money by turning off the upstairs radiators but I don't know why . I have a remote thermostat in my living room and the temperature will never rise above 20 degrees, the boiler is set at maximum of 75 degrees. I think its due to the fact the house was renovated and...

    Gas boiler service

What would there be to service in a boiler though to prevent failure? I appreciate oil and filters in a car need replacing yearly due to friction and to keep the air clean, what does a boiler actually need yearly to keep it tip top?
