Hi,

Need to run a cable outside the house then back in to the consumer unit. Length around 60ft as easier this way than lifting all the glued down boards outside. Is 10mm overkill as it's just 1 built in double oven around 4 _ 5.5kw depending on model. I'll be running the cable and getting it professionally installed. Thank you

Yes, it's grossly oversized. Whole houses are connected with less.
Surely there must be a more appropriate cable route inside the property?

I'll be running the cable and getting it professionally installed.
What's the difference between 'running a cable' and installing it?

I'll be running the cable around then electrician will do final wiring to the unit

I have come across several jobs over the years where the floor is solid and there's laminate floor above.

Get the electrician who is wiring it to do the calculations for you(what size is needed)

This is what tlc electric suggest on a 75ft run. Just don't know why he said it needed a 10mm swa cable for a 5.5kw oven?
