Can I tile on this small piece of cement?

Hi, I have a doorway where a wooden floor will be meeting a tiled floor. As you can see from the picture the wooden floor is ok (or will be) and the bathroom floor has nice solid tiles which I will tile on. However there is a gap where I had a doorway fitted and I was planning on filling this...

Drilling into a shower tray for a frameless enclosure?

I spoke to the manufacturer of the shower and as it is frameless and the door is hinged on the side panel in question they said it should be screwed. Not sure if they are being cautious as like you say once it's all silicones in together with the weight of the glass hopefully it won't move...

Drilling into a shower tray for a frameless enclosure?

Hi I have a frameless shower enclosure (800 x 800) and the instruction describes drilling the shower tray to fix a bracket so as to stop lateral movement on the side panel. The door is hinged onto the side panel and there is a tie bar at the top. I've rang a few tray manufacturers and...

Push button cistern not filling quickly. Can I fix it myself

Just to maybe help people in the future who look at this post it does appear it was a Siamp diaphragm washer. Also, toilet spares as suggested in a previous post were very good at identifying it. Just have to fit it now!

Push button cistern not filling quickly. Can I fix it myself

Hi I would guess its approx 10 years old and it has been working perfectly until this morning when I heard the hissing. The pressure out the basin tap is strong I wouldn't be able to stop it with a thumb. There is an isolation valve on the in pipe into the toilet. I'm at work now so...

Push button cistern not filling quickly. Can I fix it myself

Hi, After I flush my toilet it is not filling up properly. When I take the cistern lid off (I unscrew the push button out the top of the cistern first) there is a very small spray of water coming out the end part of the mechanism (I’ve attached a couple of photos but not sure how clear they...

Recommendations for a HE hole in the wall gas fire

Hi I am looking for a high efficiency hole in the wall glass fronted gas fire but having never bought a gas fire I am unsure what manufacturer to go for. There seems to be very few reviews on the internet. It seems gazco are good but a little expensive? Is it true the cheaper ones will...

Will my new shower work with my combi?

Thanks, it says "suitable for high pressure systems such as a combi" so hopefully should be ok. As to why I bought it without knowing, it must be remembered all the parameters can be quite bewildering for an amateur.

Will my new shower work with my combi?

Hi I have a Vaillant ecotec 837 combo boiler and the front panel often displays 0.85 bar. It is installed on the upstairs if a 3 bed detached house. I have just bought a shower for the ground floor bathroom which has a minimum recommended pressure of 1 bar. Do you think my shower will...
