i know this is stating the obvious but have you gone back to the garage and told them the problem has re-occured? they might be able to pinpoint why it has happened again and fix it no charge as you have already paid and the problem is still there. good luck

hello sleepyhead thanks for the reply. seems a bit extreme to replace the part because of a split hose but if this is the case do you have any idea of cost or is it possible to just get hold of a second hand casing? thanks.

i am not an expert but just reading your post, is it worth checking the rubber belt at the back as this would be the easiest and cheapest thing to replace.i know that when a belt went on my w/machine it stank of burning rubber and made a bit of a bang. hope that helps, good luck
