The voltage won't rise above the supply voltage of course, but a thicker cable will allow more current to flow without as much voltage drop. Think about it thickie :roll:

Standard iso valves will be fine

No need normally for full-bore ball-valves for a basin or toilet, I wouldn't bother unless your pressure / flow is very poor to begin with. I tend to use them on shower supplies though...

If a bar mixer, install your pipes as in Seco's pic, at 150mm centres. After tiling use a fixing kit like one of these:- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shower-bar-mixer-fixing-kit-optional-thermostatic-shower-valve-/330761237772 Make sure you don't put the fixing screws through the pipes . . .

Why would you suspect a leak was causing the high pressure? Again, very likely correct diagnosis - No air in expansion vessel therefore nowhere for the expansion of the water to go when it heats up....

Unless the thermostat is faulty, the point where your 'stat clicks is your actual room temperature. If your 'stat doesn't 'call for heat' when set to 18 and your room temp is below that then replace it.

Actually the WB integral filling loop DOES contain a non-return valve, so IS a check valve and WILL prevent backflow . . . :roll:

One point to note - the settings on TRV's aren't that accurate so a slight difference between the two wouldn't be a surprise. . . . and not really a problem. Just set one a little higher / lower
