    10mm/15mm thermostatic valves?

I have a chrome towel rail for my downstairs loo. The pipes coming out of the wall are 10mm microbore. Now I am confused. A lot of the TRV are 15mm yet I see 10mm TRV. So is this saying I don't need a reducer with the 10mm TRV and it will fit right onto the 10mm microbore pipes? Or get...

fastening 4x4 8ft fence post to brick wall

ok I will bare this in mind. They must be a relatively new invention as I have not come across them before. What size would be best? Baring in mind the post is 4" thick and needs to be a fair bit into the brick. I will countersink the head so it just falls beneath the post surface.

fastening 4x4 8ft fence post to brick wall

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bUtmK96T08 How about this bolt? No rawplug just screws into brick. I have never seen this before. r896neo Your link looks like a screw? Screwed into a rawplug? Thought these were the best way of fastening the fence post to wall...

fastening 4x4 8ft fence post to brick wall

I am erecting a 8ft fence post 4" sq for a feathered fence. The one post will be secured to a low brick wall and 2 ft of the post will be in a hole held in by post concrete mix. So one side of post will be fastened to the wall. I need to know what sort of fastener should be used baring in...

10mm micro bore joined to 115th copper pipe

This is the 10mm (microbore) pipes coming out of the wall. What a disaster this downstairs toilet has become. Having tiled the whole room I wasn't happy entirely with the tilers work. Only one way to do it and that was the right way (perfect). I had to bash all the tiles off with...

10mm micro bore joined to 115th copper pipe

I think we're on right page. I'd rather have a 15mm pipe slide over 10mm and solder at the end. Adaptor should be attached ie solder ring reducer? The micro bore are exposed ready for plasterboard and tiling but worried the microbore isn't long enough after tiles are fitted. Might not be...

10mm micro bore joined to 115th copper pipe

Hi guys I'm installing towel rail in downstairs toilet. The valves have been removed so it's just 10mm micro bore pipes coming from wall. The trv are 15mm but I'm not convinced the 10mm pipes are long enough after tiles are fitted. Is their 15mm extension coupler available to solder on? I'm...

    Dripping tap pipe to solder?

Thanks Danny. Can't seem to find an online UK supplier for the water gate..yet :( Might go down the service valve idea but then that would be hidden by the new plasterboard and tiles. Danger of leaking.

    Dripping tap pipe to solder?

you mean an isolating valve? I thought there would be a tool to block the pipe with wire attached to pull it out when soldered :)

Thanks for the replies. My house was built in 2001. There are several red coloured gate valves. One pipe falls down from loft so turned that off. The pipe coming from the bottom of cylinder, gate valve closed. To be honest I have closed them all and opened all taps in the house. Am I not...

    Dripping tap pipe to solder?

Hi guys, I am currently re doing my downstairs toilet/tiles etc I gutted the whole room. I cut the wash basin taps 15mm pipe ends so when it comes to fit the wall tiles will have a clean fit over the pipes. The thing is I need to add extra length onto the existing pipes to allow them to...

Ok advice taken on board :) Can anybody point me in right direction with images/photos of like the one I posted to give me ideas? Preferably with a laminated mdf top that lifts off. I think I will go for a glossy one maybe a beige/chocolate surface. One thing with the floor tiles I am...

    Downstairs loo/cloakroom make over

I have to put mine on the top as when the toilet lid is up it is to close to the lip therefore would half cover the flush plate. I have ripped the sink out put isolation valves on cold and hot pipe. Basically I'm ready to tile. I have an idea what I would like so I have a photo here I found...
