Does this look like movement or plaster cracking?

I'm not 100% on the construction as it was like this when we moved in. Does that side wall of the bay drop down to ground level or is it supported below? So under that bed room bay is a pillar this was put in for the porch extension, I believe there is a lintel above the pillar. Although I...

Does this look like movement or plaster cracking?

Hey there, the porch under it was done in the 80s and opened up into the lounge and a pillar was added to support the floor above. Edit: I had the porch roof redone recently maybe 6 months ago, forgot to mention. But the crack was there before that. I've had a look and there is an obvious...

Laying a slate hearth on limecrete.

Shes down, cheers for the help guys. Was a nightmare tbh. For anyone doing this the advice i would give is I make a wetter mix and super soak and concrete, the concrete was sucking the moisture out of the mortar even after soaking wet.

Gardz or mist coat or both

Edit. Too early in the morning ignore the last post I put realised you situation is unquie. Dont mist coat over the gardz, I think youd risk rubbing the gardz off. I just painted directly over mine and hasnt peeled. Mine was over wallpaper.

Laying a slate hearth on limecrete.

Yeah will do cheers, I got confused with sealing the porous areas. It's a bioethanol burner I couldnt find any regs on them on the gov website? I could be wrong. There not very hot just for a flame picture in the evening. (I've followed the gov rules for wood burners, distances from walls...

that's my plan if all goes well! I never got around to fitting it as another diy task took all day lol. Cheers for the advice, I was going to pva the back and seal it then do as you suggested. Is it worth the pva? Think slates pretty impenetrable as they were used for dpc right? I was just...

Theres too many variables with it, loads of wholes in lead / entry points so I Had a quote last week for a full rebuild as well as adding a chimney pot and cowel to the roof with some repointing and brick replacement. For 1400 think that sounds pretty good? What do you guys think?

Laying a slate hearth on limecrete.

Hey guys, I have a chunk of slate comming for my hearth, 30mm thick, I'm setting it above the laminate so I created a concrete bed around 2cm, so the boards will slide under to create a nice finish. But I'm not sure what to use to stick it down, I want about 5mm, I was thinking flexible tile...

    Another dark paint thread.

Cheers for that, I've been doing some stuff wrong then I thought I could use just the mist coat to seal the surface after I filled and sanded the wall. As the blue bits was painted wallpaper I thought it wouldnt need to be primed. So I was just going to use the cheap trade paint to build layers...

    Another dark paint thread.

It's less coats than the armstead trade I've been using. Gardz dries clear, not sure what you mean. I also used gardz on the upper wall next to door and it didnt help with the colour coverage. What pile roller would you recommend? I'll try another patch with gardz.
