Vaillant Condensate drain pipe not attached?!

Maybe the condensate acid water just falls from the narrower pipe above to the wider pipe below without making a mess. The boiler releases the condensate in 'plugs', not a steady flow, so I could kinda see that happening. No expert of fluid dynamics though.

    Re-gloss living room woodwork -choices?

I'd recommend priming with an oil based primer (e.g. Zinsser Cover Stain) which is compatible with painting over with water based top coat and top-coat with a water based gloss. Unless you can get hold of some old formula oil based topcoat which will not yellow, you're never going to achieve...

Hole cutter extension bar to cut hole in 110mm soil pipe.

It's a boxed in internal soil pipe on the inside of an exterior wall. Having removed some plasterboard, I have good access to the part of the pipe facing the room, and enough space to wrap a boss around it and apply solvent weld to the part of the pipe facing the exterior wall, but obviously...

Easicom Glow worm Combi boilers- any good?

I've had a Glow Worm boiler for 3 years (7 year warranty). Serviced each year and no issues yet. I did re-do all the electrical wiring to it myself because the person who fitted it was a moron.

Hole cutter extension bar to cut hole in 110mm soil pipe.

Thanks, looks reasonable - do you have link to one so I can check out the details? How does the hole cutter shank get secured, does it just rest in there? the one I have at the moment has allen key grub screws to secure it but only accepts a small diameter 'shank'?

Screw hole through inaccessible plastic water pipe!

You can seal it with epoxy resin if you can turn off the water going through it and get to the surface of the pipe enough to apply it to the outside. I personally would not want this in my house though, I'd want it ripped out and a replacement pipe put in.

Connecting two pipes of different sizes

Don't put PVC in an aquarium unless you want to poison the fish.

Hole cutter extension bar to cut hole in 110mm soil pipe.

The reason I ask is because I have bought a 56mm hole cutter, but the only arbour I could find for it has a wide (1/4"?) shank (not sure I'm using correct terminology, but the bit that gets tightened into the drill chuck) and I can only find extensions which fit the small size. I can find hole...

Hole cutter extension bar to cut hole in 110mm soil pipe.

Hi, I need to cut a ~56mm hole into a 110mm soil pipe, but need a drill extension (about 300mm ) to reach the pipe. Can anyone recommend products to do this? Dave

    Black 110mm soil stack pipe

I just checked the strap on boss I bought and while it says it must be solvent welded on and has solvent weld inserts, it also says its made of PVCu... So I guess the 'only solvent weld ABS' is out of date or something...

    Black 110mm soil stack pipe

Hi all, I'm attempting to fit a 40mm branch onto a vertical 110mm internal and enclosed soil stack pipe. I'm trying to work out if the 110mm pipe already there is ABS plastic of PVCu, but I've removed quite a lot of the plasterboard on the boxed in section and I can't see any writing on the...
