The installation and service manual shows a trap, on page 42, under heading "Checking the condensate drain and cleaning the siphon" It appears they call the trap a siphon. The shape is clear.

I think that is why it was not connected, because the connection was upwards, and there were not enough remaining waste ports on the side of the sink waste u-bend. Don't think it will be an issue to connect upwards, if I can find a way to connect in there, because the amount of distance upwards...

Boiler stopped working and found condensate drain from a combi boiler capped as shown in the picture. Can I simply join this in to the sink waste after the u-bend / trap in the indicated location?

Thanks Rob, thats exactly the information I was looking for. It's a new Kitchen. It's been a struggle to get in there because it is tenanted. I will take PTFE tape, Loctite thread cord, thread lock fluid with me. These all sound like they will fix it, thanks

Seal is fine when ring nut is tight but it keeps coming loose. Is there a "loctite" or other means of creating more friction between the ring nut and the steel it tightens on to, so it won't come loose again. How would you do this?

Have a sink and periodically the kitchen sink drain assembly unscrews, underneath the sink, causing a leak. It's all help together underneath by a 2 inch nut, or a nut approximately that size. What kind of glue can I use to cause enough friction so that it will come off when need be, but will...

Seems to have created a strong bond overnight. Will allow to set for full 24 hrs. Time will tell.

4" half round PVC gutter came down during recent storm. End corner broke off as it hit ground with single clean break. Gutter is old but solid, not brittle. Will poly cement put it back together with decent structural bond ?

Hi, We are replacing our bathroom and have found waste pipe of various diameters, including stuff marked in inches. All the different sizes are confusing and the OD's don't seem to match the name. Is there a Waste pipe chart somewhere with, OD diameter by known name

We have to excavate a hole in a stone wall which is approx 60cm thick so we can put a soil pipe through it. Having removed plasterboard we see a pre-existing hole in the wall which is 1.4 m wide by 23 cm to 67 cm in height. It's a deep hole that goes through most of the wall but not all the way...

Upstream of the pipe is a buchan trap. We are thinking to dig that out and put a modern rodding point which will allow us to go into the wall further upstream (to the right in the picture) which would be much better for us, as it will give us a much better run to the new position for the toilet...
