    Too powerful flush

Lowering the cistern right down just above the bend worked wonders, flush is perfect now with no overspill, luckily it's fitted with a remote air flush button which remains in it's original position 8)

    Too powerful flush

It's just occured to me that maybe the answer is obvious, lol If I just reduce the flush pipe length & lower the cistern then hopefully it will reduce the surge of water? going to try it anyway :P

    Too powerful flush

Just fitted our new cloakroom toilet with hidden cistern behind stud wall but the problem is the flush is too powerful & splashes over the rim a bit Reducing the amount of water in the cistern has minimal effect. Is there a means of slowing down the gush of water that comes down the curved...

    timer setting not low enough

Our Honeywell CH timer is like a lot of others & can only be set in 10 minute increments. We have our HW set to come on for just 20 minutes a day & we get a tank of piping hot water that lasts until the next timer setting, we found that 18 minutes does the job just as well. What's annoyed...

    fixing frame to plasterboard

Thanks for the tips, the partition will come exactly in between the joists so no fixings into those, using scrim tape & foam seems a good idea so I will use your suggestions. 8)

    fixing frame to plasterboard

I need to fix 3X2 framing to the plasterboard ceiling & wall to make a partition, what's the best method of fixing? The toggles I see in DIY shops look very flimsy & the hollow wall fixing plugs don't look as if they would be much good either. The frame will be a tight fit & tapped into...

Is an oil fired combi the way to go if you presumably don't have gas Are they not rather slower at providing hot water on demand compared to gas/LPG?

    choosing a warm front contactor

We've had ours done by a company called BGC, or rather a contractor of theirs. I would expect a sub contractor to do the job properly otherwise the main contractor would soon blow them out. There were two gas fitters & a labourer come basic plumber bloke, the two fitters did an excellent neat...
