Extremely unusual plot- garage in front garden permission?

I’m very happy with a garage to work on an old car... Still no planning sleuths picked up on this ;). Come on folks. Tell me I’m an idiot or praise my revolutionary stance at least!

Extremely unusual plot- garage in front garden permission?

Not when u have a tree and tall hedge surrounding it! I’m really unsure to be honest whether in my particular ‘hood’ whether much apart from extreme eyesores and illegal houses, would be followed up. The area was kinda built by, and is still inhabited by self builders.

Extremely unusual plot- garage in front garden permission?

Hi all, We live in a house in East Sussex that is in an area that was developed just after ww1. The area originally consisted of the very respectable efforts of novice builders to build themselves a home on plots of land that were a bit hotch potch. Ours has a drive running between two houses...

Anybody know of a reasonably priced Archictectural drawing specialist?

Need drawings to scale existing/proposed floor and elevations. Very small project of garden office size (9m x 2m. Single story) Somebody who could also assist with the application would also be helpful. Also, what kind of price would this be in s.e England? Many thanks, Mark

    Stud Partition: acceptable foundation depth.

Hi there, I'm 'doing up' a summerhouse in our garden and have a couple of questions. Been told by a building control officer that we will require additional piers to support the underneath of the structure. He has asked for them to be 450 x 450. Firstly (and I know I'm going off topic a...

    What does this communication suggest?

What reasons would there be for refusal of planning on design and amenity? This is a one off, and as stated, has been there ages and used as a house before, so why not again?

    What does this communication suggest?

Thanks Mercurys twin. So effectively it could only be used by friends and family, but NO ONE else?? Also, when they say that it will be assessed upon design and amenity, what does that mean??

    What does this communication suggest?

Thanks Woody. Can I ask why you arrived at this thought? I had been honest on my e mail to the department and stated that I'd like to holiday let it and it is to have a kitchenette, bathroom, sleeping etc. Perhaps there replying saying that it shouldn't be a "permanent" seperate unit, as...

    What does this communication suggest?

I have posted regarding an old wooden building on the forum before. I am inexperienced in all of the ins and outs of planning. Wise words have been given and I proceeded to contact the planning department with my plan. They came back with this. Could you it for me? "Having reviewed this...

    What could 'they' do?

Woody, many thanks again for your advice. On the quote above: if it went a step further if I continued use, where (what type of legal action) would be taken? What order could be given in this situation? It is after all bonafide in the sense it's been there a long time. Would an independent...

    What could 'they' do?

Well thanks for that incredibly scientific response, Mercury. I did contact the local ratings agency who said yes they'd come and inspect and put it in a band. I asked directly if the thing needed p.p and she said no, we have no contact with them, that's your call. I got around to wondering if...
