No power to underfloor heating and extractor fan.

Yes you’re correct. I’m working my way through all the wires. I should have feeds for 3a fused spur CH valve HW valve Boiler Cylinder Hive programmer/room thermostat I can’t figure out where the red and black in A5 A6 are from and there’s no neutral.

No power to underfloor heating and extractor fan.

im sure you’re right about that. The only thing that I can think of is the RCD which is outside the bathroom. It just seems to be a coincidence that when the wires were changed over the power stopped. I’ve been looking at s plan wiring diagrams and not convinced that it’s wired correctly and...

No power to underfloor heating and extractor fan.

Meanwhile here is the revised picture with the new valve wired in. Definitely something within that wiring has knocked out the extractor fan and underfloor heating though I appreciate they should really be wired into the s plan control box.

No power to underfloor heating and extractor fan.

the valve is brand new. I think the hive radiator wasn’t calibrated properly. I’ve replaced the batteries and will try again.

No power to underfloor heating and extractor fan.

it’s quite possible but there is something not quite right with the setup as it’s always been a bit temperamental. I’m not sure who to call- the plumber or an electrician! Now my Hive system and heating is acting strange- radiators are coming on even though the valve is set to off. That...

No power to underfloor heating and extractor fan.

yes! I noticed that. Absolutely no idea. Tomorrow I’m going to have another look and work out what the hell is going on. It shouldn’t be this complicated. Again. No idea. The mystery continues!

No power to underfloor heating and extractor fan.

a good question! I need to check. Maybe it’s time to bring an electrician in. It’s been fiddled with a few times by various plumbers.

Boiler not firing up for heating

Ah thanks. It was a bit loose but when I replaced the wires for the new valve I gave them a tug though it’s possible that there was a loose one as there were 3 in there (2 valves). Could that affect the power next door?

No power to underfloor heating and extractor fan.

After thinking I had successfully fixed a plumbing problem I seem to have created an electrical one. I replaced a Honeywell motorised valve earlier today and re-wired it the same way except for an additional white wire which I had to isolate. The original valve only had 5 wires (no white)...

Boiler not firing up for heating

that was the original wiring. When you say neutral wire not fully in which wire/position do you mean? If you say the top left is A1 and top right is B1....

Boiler not firing up for heating

In the bathroom next door. The extractor fan too isn’t working either. I can only think that the wires in the room next door where the boiler is are feeding into the bathroom and something must have been nudged. I did check them all to see that the wires were firmly in. Everything else seems...

Boiler not firing up for heating

Thanks for the replies. I got a new Honeywell motorised valve from Screwfix. I replaced the wires exactly the same way except there was a white wire (neutral I believe) which had to be isolated. initially it didn’t work and I panicked but turned out it was the hive hub taking a while to...

Boiler not firing up for heating

Morning all I’ve got a pretty good idea what the issue is but wanted to see if I’m on the right track. It’s a new Ecotec boiler (less than 12 months) and connected to hive. Hot water is working fine but for central heating the boiler does not fire up. Earlier in the year I had the...

    Radiator sound- water flowing?!

that seems to have done the trick. The valve was way open and so I had to turn it 4-5 times to close it and then half a turn to re open it. I can still hear it a little but much reduced

    Radiator sound- water flowing?!

Afternoon all The one positive of the lockdown is that it has given me plenty of time to attempt to sort out niggling house problems. Hopefully we won't need the heating on for much longer but I have a bit of a issue with a double radiator downstairs. Whenever the heating is on I can literally...

    Repainting mock Tudor beams

as I’ve got some time on my hands I’m going to repaint the mock Tudor beams at the front of the house. They were all repainted about 6 years ago but started to flake pretty quickly which was a surprise. Perhaps it was the paint and a combination of the sun on the house through our morning. I’m...

Heating nightmare- Hive/ Vaillant or wiring.

UPDATE! As of yesterday i (touch wood) have a working system that is connected up property. The plumber came yesterday morning complete with multimeter and- Replaced the HW actuator valve (the valve then worked but still no 230V coming in) re-wired the control box. seemingly it wasn't wired...
