No Certificate provided for works done HELP!

To update: I've just been in touch with the electrician. He said he did send off the notification for the certificate but he had cancelled his membership of Elecsa so that might be why it didnt come through. He's said he will get a third party to come out and test/submit a certificate for...

No Certificate provided for works done HELP!

Hi, Why can I not get a different electrician to do a test? is there a legislative reason... Must be cheaper than regularisation? To follow on from the problems: 1. Can I not get him the original electrician back out to fill in the correct forms or is it too late? 2. Is it too late for...

No Certificate provided for works done HELP!

Just to add. If I can't get him to do the test (for what ever reason) can I employ a different electrician to test the house and get a certificate (in BC notification) that way. Or can an electrician not test someone else work? Regards Simon

No Certificate provided for works done HELP!

Hi, I moved into my first house in October and in December I employed an electrician to install a cooker ring as the house previously didn't have one and I wanted a dual fuel cooker at some point. When asked if he was NICEIC he said no but was with one of the others (NAPIT I think). I...

Well, yes, I plan to do that regardless as it's standard practice. However, it's these two insurance terms I'm stuck on. Any ideas? Simon

    Confusion over insurance terms

Hi Andy, It's to look at excavating out the floor in the dining room as it has a slight slope and rather uneven. No sign of heave, subsidence or chemical attack so I'm looking for tradesmen for quotes to excavate and replace to regulations, organise BC inspection etc. I wouldn't normally...

    Confusion over insurance terms

Hi, I've been looking for a tradesman to do a bit of work for me and I've found one who carries the logos for Trade Safe, CGS, BBA on his website. So doing a bit of digging around on the internet I see CGS offer 'Insured Guarantee" but not "Insurance-backed Guarantee". Is any one able...

    Floor repair/replace

Hi, thanks for the reply. There was no mention of a warranty. I was told if they were conducting damp course injection work then they would guarantee it but as it was a new floor, if building control signed it off then as far as they were concerned that classes it as being approved and...

    Floor repair/replace

Hi, Sorry to be posting this again so soon but I'm at a loss for a tradesman. I've had a damp specialist company out (found on mybuilder .com) to advise of possible solutions to a bulge in a concrete floor with some efflorescence and one of the things they have suggested is excavation and...

    Uneven concrete floor

Hi, I've had a damp specialist company out (found on mybuilder .com)and one of the things they have suggested is excavation and replacing/rebuilding the floor as they suggest leveling it would leave a 'step' at the edge where it touches the adjoining room and doorway. Also, as there is a...

Who is responsible for repair/failure after building control

Hi, I have a very uneven dining room floor (too much for screed to resolve without creating a step to get into the room). I've had one company out for a quote to excavate and fill/insulate/etc that I found on 'mybuilder . com'. As they do not have public liability insurance listed, I...
