    Painting OSB

Hi all Have boarded out my man cave in the garden inside with osb 3 board I'd like to paint it to give a bit of extra light. I'm not bothered about having a smooth finish, I'm happy to have the osb rough finish, I'm just wary about the paint being sucked in and blowing the board or...

Bitumen painted OSB for garden office back walls?

Hi all. I am building a 3 x 4m garden office that will be cladded with treated timber T&G on the two exposed walls. The other two walls are close to my fence and will not be visible. I was originally planning to clad those walls too but the cost really added up. Then I considered aluminium box...

    Removing paint from osb.

Although I still need to find and install cladding to my mini workshop on the doors and one side, (it’s no bigger than a bike shed), we have painted the outside so the weather keeps it from rotting. However I wanted to keep the inside natural wood, except I did not communicate this to the person...

    OSB board for outside shed

I am building a garden shed and don't have money for expensive cladding. Therefore I was just going to treat the OSB walls with some kind of preservative. Is this a valid and recommended practice? What kind of preservative or varnish or wood paint be sufficient?

Loft Condensation (inside OSB board inloft void after conversion) (Ed.)

I had a loft converted a few years ago and on the gable side, the builder insisted on osb board, with mesh and straight cement render, which was painted over with dulux masonry paint. I've noticed when very cold the inside void of the loft, cold space if you like, the osb board is wet -...

Hi I want to put up a log storage area, shelter with an osb sheet as a roof to keep of the rain. My question is do I have to put on felt first or can I just use BITUMEN PAINT to keep the cost down? Is there any other paint on style material I could use if I cannot use BITUMEN PAINT? Thanks

    Masonry paint indoor mistake

I have rather regretfully painted the walls (OSB) of a garden office with Dulux exterior weather shield masonry paint on the advice it would be fine. I now have a smelly office which is rather annoying. I believe it’s the biocides in the paint that is the smell. I’ve painted over it with an...

    Think I screwed up...

This isn't actually a screw-up yet, but might become one. I decided to save money by using type 3 OSB for a decking as it's going to be covered with fake grass so won't be seen. After a bit of reading I thought that type 3 was waterproof rather than just water-resistant, but an experienced mate...

Treating OSB for Vinyl Flooring in Bathroom

Hi, I have 18mm OSB laid down in a new bathroom, screwed into joists beneath. I've probably sunk the screw heads a bit much, and there are some joins where one board butts up against another. Wondering what the best thing to do is beneath vinyl flooring. Wondered about a resin of some kind...
