    Moving the main supply cable

Dont worry, definitely not tempted to do it myself! Cant see why they would want to install a new cable though, are they not flexible to some degree? The floor just needs lifting and the existing cable run under to the new location (there's more than enough slack to do so). Here's a picture...

    Moving the main supply cable

Doesn't even need a hole, just a floorboard removed and the cable moved 3 ft to the right - there's more than enough of it there to do that

    Moving the main supply cable

Having a new staircase put in and typically the main electrical supply cable and fuse is right in the way. Comes up though the wooden floor and is high up on the wall (so there is plenty of cable to play with). I just need it moved about 3ft over to the right (so it will be under the stairs)...

    High pressure issue

UPDATE: Complained to BG, a different engineer came this morning and couldn't have been a nicer chap. Immediately saw that the filling loop valve was dripping water and had been slowly filling the boiler and so raising the pressure. Replaced the valve and 2 secs to re-pressurise the pressure...

Hi all I have a Vailant Turbomax VUW 242 (Yea I know its 20 years old but its been working away quite happily until now) that has recently been reading a higher than normal pressure (had always been on about 1.2 bar previously) which now is 2 bar cold then rising to just under 3 when on about...

Stop resin bond from being porous?

Sounds like a possible - maybe drill some holes though the concrete to allow drainage too? You dont think it would be possible to prevent the water getting down there in the first place somehow?

Stop resin bond from being porous?

Hi I have a summerhouse on a concrete base that recently had patio stones laid around it and so the summerhouse is now below the depth of the patio. Where the patio meets the summerhouse is a resin bonded grout that I was told was non-porous however its definitely porous! What happens when it...

    Boiler not reaching thermostat temperature

Hi all I have a fairly ageing TURBOmax VUW 242 Vailent boiler. I Have my room thermostat set to 21 but just recently the boiler is cutting out at no more than 17. The rads are hot but the rooms are not! I have noticed that the pressure has creped up from a fairly steady 1.5 bar to just...

    Backed up rainwater downpipe

Hi all Just moved into a new house that's been empty for months. First hard rain and noticed the water pouring over the gutters - on inspection, the downpipe was backing up from where it disappears into the ground (its concreted in). Any suggestions on clearing it? Also, there's a huge drain...

    replacement MCB's

Well, its a British built mobile home that are for sale in Greece everywhere and contain a UK spec consumer unit (along with UK sockets etc). Greece does not produce mobile homes and sell many UK imports so (other than having it completely re-wired to Greek regs) I guess my option is to install...
