    Rewiring this light socket

I forgot to take a photo before pulling it through the wall. Annoyingly. This is a two-switch socket (upstairs/downstairs lighting). So the cable coming from the top is no problem as that's the ceiling for the top floor. It's the two coming from the bottom that I'm a bit confused with. I...

    Replacing ceiling fixture

Also if I use Wago connectors is it ok to leave them loose in the light fixture or should you always put them in a box? Edit: last question. Can I just use 3-way connectors instead of 2? Saves me having to buy bulk packs of both the 2-way and 3-way.

    Replacing ceiling fixture

Thanks. I'm after some Wago boxes but I'm not sure what I need. There are so many. Which do I need for my loop-in wiring? There are four ceiling roses that I need to replace so I'm happy with a bulk product.

    Replacing ceiling fixture

I have a room with two ceiling lights lit by one switch. Here is one, the other is the same except has two cables, one coming in and one to the one photographed (I forgot to take a photo of the other one). And here is the new fixture: As you can see the next fixture doesn't have the same...

    Removing a ceiling light fixture

Thanks. I'll try to get some photos tonight. I have access to the above from the loft. I had a quick look but it's all covered by insulation so I'm gonna have to move all that first. Both lights are controlled by one switch. I looked at the back of that plate and there are just the two wires...

    Removing a ceiling light fixture

I have two ceiling lights in one room but would rather have just the one. What's the best way to remove the unwanted light? It's furthest away from the light switch. Am I right in thinking the electric cable daisy chains from switch to light 1 and then to light 2? Which is the one I want to...

    Washing machine drain pipe leaking

Luckily not! I think what happened is we pulled the dishwasher out a few weeks ago because it wouldn't drain and on fixing the issue (which incidentally was fixed at the front of the machine so we didn't need to pull it out) we pushed the machine back in and nicked the hose somehow when pushing...

    Washing machine drain pipe leaking

Our kitchen floor has gotten weirdly bumpy over the last few weeks so we have decided to pull out the washing machine and have noticed there is a slight hole in the drain pipe Is it easy to repair a pipe or am I better off replacing it? It'sa Bosch Exxcel 7 1200 Express. And lastly is the...

    Loose mixer tap

Is that the white thing? What is it for? I haven't noticed a smell yet but you're right, it does look like it needs emptying. Haven't noticed it until you mentioned it!

    Loose mixer tap

Thanks for all the replies. I bought one of those tubular spanners and it did the trick perfectly. Bit fiddly but not too bad. It does look quite rusty there but I'm not sure why? The kitchen is only two years old so it's all pretty new. Is there anything I can do to prevent rust, assuming...

    Loose mixer tap

My kitchen mixer tap is loose and I have no idea what I need to tighten. I assume it's something under the sink. I've looked and can see a bolt but that seems tight already. That's all I can see. Is it something under there I need to do? I have spanners.
