    Neutral-Earth Voltage 120V

The Old "Drummond" testers had some advantage if used with care. Additionally the old homemade Plugtop three resistors and two neons might have some merit but not the most foolproof of things.

Is this article a Red Haddock ???

I must admit I find around 19 degrees see to be the maximum end of comfort (indoors) and around 16 to 18 being the most comfortable. The often thought of 20 degrees as "Room Temperature" is a little too much if choice is involved.

    Economy 7 clock wrong

Yes John I wholeheartedly agree with everything you have said. I think that here in the UK we are a little biased towards the potato (personally I am not keen on rice or pasta) therefore our original 5 a day sort of rule lead us to particularly mention the 5 making it "effectively" 6 from that...

    Economy 7 clock wrong

I used to have A CB licence back in the day. CB Radio could be very useful whilst travelling camping etc - long before mobile phones etc and knowing you could get help for emergencies during a countryside run or traffic info etc was brill, some great folk on there (and a few absolute Pilchards...

    surface wiring for light switch

Well if you want to use it and it complies with all relevant standards then fine (assuming mains use - aka low voltage) unlikely to be a problem at Extra Low Voltage. But unless you are building a film set or something then the price is more that a bit OTT, a knife switch and a jacobs ladder and...

Well at least we are not uncivilised enough to call the motor car an automibile or call petrol gas. ;)

    Economy 7 clock wrong

"Is that really a good argument for justifying the fact that they "don't count" ?" well is it possible if we eat say rice as our staple diet then a potato might well be one of our 5 a day? but if eat potato is our staple diet then another portion is not great, it is something else we need...

Is this article a Red Haddock ???

Hmm, the tamperproof stats I was referring to were basically jus a protective cover held in place by "tamperproof screws" the bluetooth and Wi-Fi were not a thing back then, Computers were Spectrum Basic or Vic Commador, the only mobile phone was a short range wireless extension to the incomming...

    Economy 7 clock wrong

"Your 5 a day" is not directly related to whether or not something is 'vegetable' (or fruit)." Oh Rotten Heck John, you spoilt my excuse for eating a bag of Tomato Flavoured Crisps as one of my 5 a day now !!! Bah Humbug and Drat!

Yes there are often up to three (sometimes more "Definitions" of a lot of things 1/ Scientific, 2/ Legal and 3/ Everyday usage and a few more localised meanings too. Apparently in our County the Rail Crossing Signage had to be changed when I was a teenager fro "Wait Whist the Trains Pass" or...

Is this article a Red Haddock ???

I think you might be right Eric. I do notice that throughout the year as ambient temperature varies the a lot of folk tend to like the home noticably hotter when its cold outside then when its warm or hot outside as soon as they get indoors wheras you might presume one steady temperature inside...

    80A PME Fuse

"I would imagine that's a very common situation, isn't it, particularly given that there are (I think) still a lot of "63A" RCDs around." Yes indeed, quite common, We do not need to add up the ratings of our fuses/breakers etc but can apply diverity on circuits dependant an maximum possible...

I can not evisage Refute as being any other than to Prove to be false and I reckon the political favoured usage is devious. Denying is something else. Spiders are not insects but usage would not surprise my though. At least one dictionary does actually state Electroction as per Electric shock...

External garage electricity wrongly connected to neighbours supply

How often have we found circuits wrongly labelled? If a label is actually there in the first place, not just once I have seen it on the body of a fuse rather than the fuseholder or its position on a consumer unit. Circuits incorrectly identified in the first place or subsequently altered/swapped...
