New sink, which waste connectors to use

Well they did show that I hadn't fitted the basin waste yet! Didn't know that would drop the trap down as I haven't got the part yet.. sounds like I should do that first as it could fit! Thanks for your reply.

New sink, which waste connectors to use

Hi I have fitted a new sink in our bathroom but the waste pipes don't meet up, what can I use to connect them? The new sink waste is about an inch further back and quite a lot higher with the trap I've got... I have found a flexible waste pipe...

    Fitting a new toilet...

I had considered a flexible connector to get the loo flush (excuse pun) to the wall, but Richard C is right the waste pipe is quite high up where it comes through wall and we could get backed up. If I was to move the pipe down what do I use to connect it to the stack? I can get at the other...

    Fitting a new toilet...

Hi I want to fit a new loo in our bathroom but an not sure if I need to be careful about which type of loo I pick as the old one has not been fixed to the wall and is up on a block of wood, presumably as the waste pipe is quite high? It looks rubbish! This is the first time I have tried to...

    Fixing railway sleepers together?

Yes they are 300mm, I went to get a couple more and am having trouble getting them as I've been told ours are English and most are European?! Thanks for the link. I am growing ivy over the top/back of them and they are going to be flush with the lawn and have a hedge in front of them so I...

    Who is responsible?

 I did wonder for a while if it was some kind of money making scheme... Melinda could be a good shout... cheer my husband up anyway! So, seriously though, do you think the builder is part responsible? The engineer says it was down to him to check by taking the floor boards up before he...

    Who is responsible?

Hi I hope I'm posting this in the right place, after a bit of advice. We recently had the wall and doorway between our galley kitchen and dining room removed. We had drawings done by an architect who said he thought we'd need 1 maybe 2 rsj's. The drawings went to a structural engineer who...

    Fixing railway sleepers together?

Our garden slopes away and I have made a retaining wall out of railway sleepers to get a level lawn at the top. The wall is 7 sleepers wide, with 8 rsj's, the RSJ's are set in at different levels as the garden had a steeper slope in the middle. The left of the wall is 3sleepers high, with...

    Fixing railway sleepers together?

The rsj's aren't high enough to just sit the top layer in apart from the posts either end so I need to fix the middle 5 sleepers and the inner ends of the other 2. I was unfortunately out when they put the rsj's, otherwise I don't think I'd have done it like this! Had enough trouble sawing...

    Bits of plaster coming down

I have been on to the guy who did the calcs again this afternoon. He says he did get them wrong in the first place as he made no site visit and had not realised our chimney was coming out too. He would have expected the builder to flag the over engineering of the rsj before he ordered it and put...

    Bits of plaster coming down

The builder said becuse we didn't need any RSJ's we didn't need building regs. They weren't informed it had come down... Should I get this checked by someone?!
