    Fire rated downlights or not?

    there is no insulation within the space where the lights are going just wooden floor boards above them. The downstairs has about 15cm of space and upstairs will have about 15cm once the joiner has been to fit extra timber to create more space before fitting the ceiling.

    Re-plastering my hall, strip walls or put up new board

    Oh well, went for it and ripped down all the old plasterboard walls and glad i did as it opened up some new ideas. Going to cost me £150 to get all the plasterboard put back up. Thinking of removing a wall to fit a banister at the top of the stairs.

    .... yeah the radiators are all new but upgraded from back boiler to combi about 3 yrs ago but they guy who fitted them must not have bothered, he wont be back lol, will get it sorted. what about my previous question about closing off that rad without a TRV??

    ... So once this has been removed and and valves fitted to stop the water flow, is it safe to put the heating back on? I ask because if I remove the radiator the water won't flow back to the boiler, or do i just ensure that the radiators in the other rooms are on to allow backflow?
