Wood or carpet in living room

Glad I can be of service  What I was trying to say that wood flooring is everywhere you look nowadays and personally I tend to get a bit bored with it. It is also incredibly noisy which grates after a while.

    Boxing in a boiler

Need some advice as the best way to box in the new boiler we've just had fitted. It's in the study so it really is an eyesore. The boiler in question has been fitted approx 2ft from the ceiling and so the pipework runs down the length of the wall. I was thinking maybe make a frame around the...

    Cotswold Stone

    New Doors

Ian, Have they been primed? If not you will have to prime them first and you will probably have to treat the knots with knotting. When they have been primed you will need at least 2 coats of undercoat and the same for the top coat. Remember to rub down between coats.

    Best paint for bannister/hand rail.

Not really, just use oil based. You will of course have to rub down and i'd use an undercoat with a couple of top coats.

    Lining paper badly joined

I'm afraid you're going to have to bite the bullet and have the walls skimmed. It's no use trying to patch things up, false economy

    Which Roller

A long pile roller will put more paint onto the surface and sometimes this can create a slightly textured finish.

    chain saws

If you really want one then i'd look no further than a Sthil. I have a petrol Sthil hedgecutter and the engineering is breathtaking.

    Which Roller

Depends how smooth the finish is. As a rule you should use a roller with a short pile for smooth walls and a long pile for rough.

    Painting Newly Plastered Bathroom

Never use tape on newly painted walls. Just give it a light rub with some 3M pads and re paint.
