Hi, I think it was built in the 1950s and yes, the owner has installed upvc windows. Based on what you said, how big a job is that likely to be?

rotating boot lintel - replace/ repair?

Hi Buying a new property and the surveyor has highlighted cracks surrounding the soldier bricks which from my limited research seem to suggest the boot lintel has rotated. From the photo, can anyone advise whether this would be a case of renewing the lintel or patching up the mortar work? Cheers

Cheers Dan. Yeah, the tank is pretty ancient - guess it dates from the 80s when the flats were built.

    leaking boiler pipe outside

I should have said that this is in a block of flats so I guess the float valve etc that you mentioned must be in the top of the building somewhere - would that be right? Cheers

    leaking boiler pipe outside

Hello, As you can see in my first pic I have had excessive leaks from this outdoor pipe which appears to connect to my hot water tank. Is this the pressure overflow pipe? If so, can someone please give me some advice about how to go about fixing it. Thanks in advance

    Triton enlight trips out

Hi, Electricians been out. Quoted £20 for call out charge, £25 for labour and whatever a new 40a rcbo is going to cost. Wiring is okay so he's just going to upgrade it. Does that seem alright price wise? Thanks

    Triton enlight trips out

It worked fine for a couple of years until the past few weeks when it exhibits the behaviour I mentioned. To your point, isn't that working on the assumption that the cabling is sound? I'm going to get someone in to test it. Thanks for all your advice
