How do I get inside this tap?

I have tried just pulling the handle off. Will give it a squirt of WD40 and try again. Not tried turning the plate. Not sure it will turn as the four corners look as if they are turned downwards. Will give that a go though too. Thanks

How do I get inside this tap?

Does anybody know how to get the handle off this tap to get at the valve? It's dripping and needs rewashering etc inside. There's no screw under the plastic plug as you might expect to see. All there is is what looks like a flat squarish metal plate. Have tried prising that up with a...

    shower cable (flex) too short

Careful Seco  I've seen crimping mentioned elsewhere on here Londonboy. Wondered whether that might be a solution. I think you're right though; I don't think it would be considered like for like.

    shower cable (flex) too short

Thanks boilerman, yes I thought it was likely to be notifiable. Could you tell me what the solution would be to extending the flex. Since I can't do it myself I would at least like to to be able to advise my customer.

    shower cable (flex) too short

Thanks Whitespirit. However I think your confusing this unit with an 'electric shower' rated in the kilowatts (8, 9 ,10 kW etc) for the heating element. This topic is about an electric POWER shower (150 Watts to run the pump motor). Matt

    shower cable (flex) too short

A bit of electrical advice please... Just in the process of replacing an old Watermill electric power shower with a Mira Vigour. Unfortunately, the cable (flex in fact) doesn't reach the terminals of the new shower. Some details about the set-up... - the supply is via twin and earth flex...

    Bosch Classixx dishwasher not emptying

Hi there. I was looking at this machine for a friend because there were a couple of inches of dirty water left in the bottom at the end of the wash. Took out the filters and cleaned - not too bad - and then removed the L-shaped piece that's held in with a Torx screw to have a look at the small...

Anyone recognise this shower manufacturer's mark?

Gone to several, gasman (see above). No luck though. Frustrating because I know I recognize it! Just can't put my finger on it.

Anyone recognise this shower manufacturer's mark?

It's a few weeks on, and I'm still having trouble identifying this maker's mark. Bringing it to the top again to see if anyone recognizes it. Any suggestions?

Anyone recognise this shower manufacturer's mark?

Yes, I'm sure I've seen it on taps. Just can't place it. Will have to go down to the merchants tomorrow, see if anyone there recognises it.

Anyone recognise this shower manufacturer's mark?

Hi all, Trying to get a replacement temperature control knob for a shower. There's no maker's name apparent, but this logo is on the knob itself. I know I recognise it, but I just can't think which manufacturer it is. Can anyone help? Thanks Matt

    thermostatic monobloc bath shower mixer

Thanks gday. However, I'm looking for a solution that will preserve variable temperature control.

    thermostatic monobloc bath shower mixer

Bathstyle and Seco ... I've looked on the websites of all the usual suspects: Mira, Grohe, Ideal Standard, Bristan etc , as well as googling , but nothing. Obviously there are plenty of non-thermostatic monobloc mixers, as well as plenty of two-hole thermostatic mixers, but nobody seems to make...

    thermostatic monobloc bath shower mixer

Hi all Do you know if anyone makes a thermostatic monobloc bath shower mixer (deck-mounted, not floor-standing)? There are plenty of non-thermostatic monobloc bath shower mixers out there, and I've spotted that Hudson Reed do a thermostatic monobloc bath mixer but - darn it - it doesn't have...

How to change float valve - Range Kernel cistern

Hi there, I want to change (or at least clean) the noisy float valve in a "Range Kernel" cold water cistern. This is one of those arrangements for new-build flats where a plastic cistern sits directly over the hot water cylinder, all supported in a metal framework. The problem is that...

Copper soil pipe - how to make a connection

So Doitall, what is your considered opinion of the Young Pup's suggestion?! I could only see an overflow pipe size connector on McAlpine's website Razor. Is there something similar for 32 or 40mm waste pipe?

Copper soil pipe - how to make a connection

Thanks for the info Doitall... I certainly don't want to bodge it which is why I'll recommend to my friend that she finds an experienced pro to give her a quote for doing it that way. I'm sure it is, as you describe, simple enough to do this the right way ... IF you know what you're doing...

Copper soil pipe - how to make a connection

I've seen a similar thread on another forum where someone suggests using a strap-on boss - with the ridge filed off - and sealing it to the copper soil pipe with silicone. Says he's had success with this approach on cast iron soil pipe.
