The green indicator light for my burner on my Greenstar Ri boiler keeps going out after I switch on the central heating. I have balanced all my radiators, bled all air from them, set my thermostat to a required temperature but each time I switch the heating on the burner indicator light...

How do I raise floor level?

Thank you Steve, I am at this point now and am insulating the floor before I lay a Vapour control sheet and then 18mm WBP ply. My last question is how do I finish the insulation around the pipes and edges of the wall? ...would expanding foam be ok around the copper heating pipes that I've...

Heating pipes laid over DPM...will it melt?

I would like to finish this job tomorrow so if anyone can offer any advice on what to fill in around the copper pipes and walk edges that would be really helpful. I was thinking of just using expanding foam. Them finishing with a vapour control sheet and 18mm WBP ply.

Heating pipes laid over DPM...will it melt?

I have done the below. Battons and celotex. But what about the edges and gaps where the pipes are etc. Should I use expanding foam in all tiny areas and around pipes or just leave it ?

Heating pipes laid over DPM...will it melt?

Thank you for all the advice It's only a little downstairs loo so I've decided to lay the DPM, then batton out with 2x1 and put 25mm celotex in between. Then on top will be 18mm WBP ply before priming and tiling. Does that sound ok?

Heating pipes laid over DPM...will it melt?

I've put a DPM down and wrapped the copper heating pipes in gaffer tape. I hope this isn't a silly question but is there any possibility that the heating pipes will melt the DPM as its only plastic.

No green light on boiler , no heating

I have a pressurised system with a worcester greenstar 15Ri boiler and a hot water cynlinder. The blue light on my boiler is solid which I believe is correct but the green gas light never comes on and when I switch the boiler on it just whers and whers. I've let all air out of rads and also...

How do I raise floor level?

Thank you once again. Should I also go with a vapour control layer as suggested between the ply and on top of insulation and battons?....therefore stopping any warm air from the room getting below?....or is this overkill

How do I raise floor level?

If I used a DPM under the battons as suggested, would I not get problems by screwing the battons into it?

How do I raise floor level?

I presumed that if I filled the space between the battons with celotex and left no gaps anywhere then I wouldn't need to ventilate the subfloor as itl all just be compact with battons and insulation. What is the AAV ? The piping on the wall will be above the new floor and boxed in as you...

How do I raise floor level?

Thanks again for the reply, the copper is soldered and i have also wrapped plenty of tape around them. I will go with the battons with insulation in between and then 18mm ply. The only thing I'm thinking over is the DPM as there is one already below the concrete slab, if I out one also...

How do I raise floor level?

Thank you both for your suggestions, I will go with that approach tben, if I put a DPM down under the battons and then screw batten down into concrete I'll be piercing the DPM where the screws go through, will this matter too much? Also the CH pipes on the floor I plan to just insulate...
