Dewalt cordless drill for home DIY use

I bought my dad the 14.4v dewalt twin pack for a present for general diy, he's delighted with it, it really does work well. Nice kit will do everything you need. If you wanna use a combi for screws then you need something with some power, if you get an impact you can drop the power down...

Makita HS300DWE 85mm circular saw opinions

just to feeback, I picked up a 10.8v kit from tools4trade, which I think was an absolute steal here : http://www.tools4trade.co.uk/makita-dk1493wx-10-8v-hp330-combi-drill-td090-impact-driver-with-hs300-circular-saw-bare-unit-mak-108kit-3-p-153748 I didnt realise the circ was so small and...

Makita HS300DWE 85mm circular saw opinions

Just wondered if anyone has or has any experience of this saw. Looking for something tidier and more mobile for lifting floorboards but not sure how this would cope with demand and battery life...

Commercial Boiler fitted in a house?

whats amusing is how bigburner, drivel, georgebramwell changes his views with his new names. Apparently min modulation rates are not important anymore, a far cry from the days of recommending 2 boilers with an evinox 1-10 modulating system boiler on every other thread and not even a thermal...

Commercial Boiler fitted in a house?

sell it on ebay, you could probably get more for that then what you can pay for a correctly sized equally used boiler so you'll still be quids in with a better suited boiler. You have to remember that for most of the year you may only need several KW. The calculations we use cater for it...

    hive or similer

I have a heatmiser at home the neo is a really nice bit of kit. We also install losts of Nests, they are a really nice product but is more of a geeky thing. Sounds like you just need the functionality. In which case I would go with Heatmiser or Honeywell Evohome. Hive is tat, salus forget it...

    Would You

not sure why it needed a demonstration. Title was enough. I guess its ok for diyers who dont wanna fork out for a blowtorch etc but no pro is gonna do that if they are any good. Like dan said you can avoid burning stuff by being careful and using a good fine tip on your blowtorch

    Radiator bottom right inlet outlet

Try ultraheat, some of their radiators are designed for this setup. Very common on the continent, and the stat doesn't pick up any more heat than it would being directly above a hot pipe.

    2" flush pipe

what kind of toilet is it? any make on it ? It would have come with it, so you're only hope is the manufacturer of the toilet. I noticed this when I a flush cone for a gerberit concealed cistern went walkies on a job, and only their cones fit their pipes

    GlowWorm Ultra POwer SXI 170

crikey you have advice to get it from someone whos never installed it, and not to from someone whos never seen one lol Firstly it is a decent boiler, and will perform well providing your flow rate is adequate. You cant switch it to just a combi, it is effectively a store combi, the cylinder...

BG Homecare Contract and power flushing

why not cancel the contract all together and save yourself a small fortune. BG contracts are only worth it when you have stuff going wrong that they are fixing, the minute you have to start paying for stuff its no longer value for money

    Best unvented inderect cylinder

dont get a megaflo, you pay more for a design flaw. Make sure whatever you buy has an external vessel(most have). I've never come across a cylinder that had any issues really, apart from some of the older glass lined Aristons. The quality of some of the cheaper ones definitely isn't as...

    Baxi Bahama 100 not working

its an ignition fault. you need a qualified gas engineer. Stop meddling, these things can be lethal if your not careful. However I also tend to agree with the comment above

Concealed cistern unit has no access panel

your first mistake was dealing with victoria plumb. Possibly the worst plumbing supplies company on the net. Just read some reviews from their happy customers..........if more people done their homework this company would go bust over night.. http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews240088.html

    Glow Worm UltraPower

Viessmann do but their support is pony. WB do something similar but much smaller store. ATAG do a Solar version which is the dogs danglies but its hideously expensive Personally I would go with separate boiler and cylinder as not much price difference if you have the room anyway, and better...
