I wouldnt use wd40 on multipoint locks, washes all the grease out of the gearboxes and that cause more issues Graphite spray/grease or similiar for any gearboxes, bit of vaseline or similiar on other moving parts,

The brass screw will.adjust how easy/hard it is to open. It adjusts the friction, hence upvc window hinges are actually called Friction Stays

Id stick to a Low Modulus neutral cure , usually as LMN on the tube , the only real stipulation
